- Elon Musk's biography reveals a lot about the billionaire's love life.
- "I don't think you can be in a relationship with Elon and not argue," Musk's first wife says.
We already know working for Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk can be a bit of a rollercoaster ride. According to his new biography, dating the billionaire also appears to have its ups and downs.
What To Know: Musk's biography, which was released this month, revealed a lot about the billionaire's somewhat quiet love life. Several of the women he has had relationships with shared details about what it's like dating the world's richest person.
Many of them described their relationships as emotionally volatile. Although they were often looped in on some big business decisions, a lot of the excitement stopped there, per Business Insider.
Musk's first wife, Justine Wilson, reportedly told the author of the biography Walter Isaacson that the couple would fight a lot — often in public places.
"I don't think you can be in a relationship with Elon and not argue," Wilson said.
She even explained Musk would sometimes resort to calling her an "idiot" or "moron" when they were getting into it. Although he lacks empathy, he's still a great man in a lot of ways, his first wife admitted.
Grimes (Claire Boucher), the mother of one of Musk's most well-known children, X Æ A-12 (nicknamed X), has also been forthcoming about Musk's apparent lack of empathy.
In the biography, she described the Tesla CEO as having different versions of himself, one of them being a fierce side she called "demon mode," which makes Musk difficult to be around.
"When we hang out, I make sure I'm with the right Elon," Grimes told Isaacson.
Ahead of the release of the biography, Isaacson shared an image of Musk with Neuralink director Shivon Zilis and the twins they quietly had in late 2021.
In a now-deleted X post responding to Isaacson's picture of the twins, Grimes said she was never allowed to see a photo of the children until the moment Isaacson posted the image, "despite this situation utterly ripping my family apart," she said.
Isaacson said both Grimes and Zilis were in the same hospital for child-related checkups at the same time, but neither of them knew the other was there or planning to have a child with Musk.
Despite the difficulties described above, Musk also has a good heart and can be tender at times, according to Isaacson. He has spent a lot of time with his son X and has made a point to be actively involved with raising the twins he had with Zilis.
The billionaire's second wife, Talulah Riley, told Isaacson that Musk traveled to England to spend time with her when one of her close friends passed away.
"We just watched stupid TV and laughed and hung out and he just made me laugh instead of cry," Riley said.
