Walt Disney Co's DIS Disney Star, the official media rights holder for the ICC Men's World Cup 2023 in India, is set to hit a major milestone. Industry projections estimate an unprecedented INR 4,000 crore (approximately $480 million) in ad revenue as the cricket-loving nation gears up to host the esteemed tournament.

As noted by BQ Prime, Disney Star has already knocked it out of the park, securing 24 sponsors and over 500 advertisers for the 45-day sporting event. The broadcaster continues to score, with negotiations ongoing with four to five additional brands for sponsorship deals and a forecast for even more advertisers in the coming weeks.

Ajit Varghese, head of network ad sales at Disney Star, compared the enthusiastic response from advertisers to a full house at Eden Gardens - one of the world's largest cricket stadiums. This interest reflects a strategy to leverage the festive season and positive consumer sentiment.
