While specifics of TikTok's agreements with these platforms remain undisclosed, sources told Variety that no monetary exchange is involved.
This feature, distinct from TikTok Music, which is a premium service available in select countries, intends to bridge TikTok's music discovery with external streaming services.
Users can save tracks with a simple "Add Song" button and customize playlists across the mentioned platforms.
Moreover, TikTok users have the option to utilize the Add to Music App feature directly from an artist's Sound Detail page.
Although there are no immediate plans to introduce TikTok Music in the U.S., the platform's global head of music business development, Ole Obermann, emphasizes the feature's potential to link TikTok's discovery with increased consumption on streaming services, "generating even greater value for artists and rightsholders."
