Speaking at the GTC 2024 keynote presentation, NVIDIA Corp. NVDA CEO Jensen Huang highlighted new products and ways the company would usher in the new era of artificial intelligence.
Like other Huang presentations, the CEO was seen wearing a leather jacket, which has become his signature clothing option.
What Happened: At the conference, Huang recalled the past, present and future for Nvidia regarding the growth of artificial intelligence. The CEO unveiled the Blackwell GPU, which is expected to continue growth for Nvidia in the artificial intelligence sector.
While on stage, Huang once again was outfitted in a leather jacket. Those familiar with Nvidia or Huang have likely seen the CEO wear a leather jacket for interviews and keynotes, as it became a signature piece of clothing over the years.
According to a report from Tom's Hardware, Huang's leather jacket at the GTC 2024 is a lizard-embossed jacket that retails for $8,990. The news site said it was a jacket from the Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2023 menswear collection. The jacket features embossed calf leather and not actual lizard skin.
Huang has been seen wearing leather jackets dating back to at least 2013, according to the report.

Why It's Important: While it is one of his signature pieces of clothing and something he is now known for, Huang gave credit for wearing a leather jacket to his wife and daughter.
In an interview with HP, Huang was asked about his signature look.
"I'm happy that my wife and my daughter dress me," Huang said.
Huang also recalled meeting his future wife Lori Huang when he was 16 years old in an engineering class.
"I had a great pickup. I asked her if she wanted to see my homework."
Huang also seems to know he's become known for his leather jacket style. During a 2016 “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit, he introduced himself as the CEO of Nvidia and said, "You may know me better as ‘the guy in the leather jacket.'"
Along with his signature leather jacket, another key item worn by Huang at Nvidia events is the company's logo that he got tattooed on his shoulder. The tattoo was part of a tribute to shares of Nvidia hitting $100 for the first time years ago.
Huang said his family was with him when he got his tattoo.
"I was crying like a baby. My kids were with me, and they were like, ‘Dad, you've gotta control yourself.'"
Technology CEOs are often known for their signature looks with Apple CEO Steve Jobs known for his black turtlenecks worn during company events until his death in 2011.
Coincidentally, a famous leather jacket was once worn by Jobs too. Jobs wore a brown leather jacket in an iconic picture where he is seen flipping off the IBM logo outside a company building. The jacket is now owned by fractional investing site Rally and valued at $39,500 by shareholders.
Who knows, maybe one day an iconic leather jacket worn by Huang will be worth tens of thousands of dollars to investors and collectors, too.
