Why It Matters: The documentary “Return to Space” was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2023 for “Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score).” The series focuses on SpaceX’s mission to send NASA astronauts back to the International Space Station.

SpaceX, founded by Musk, has played a pivotal role in U.S. space exploration. Prominent biographer Walter Isaacson stated that Musk is the only person capable of launching U.S. astronauts into orbit, a task that neither NASA nor Boeing Co. can accomplish.

Furthermore, Musk has ambitious plans for SpaceX, including building space stations on Mars and the Moon. He aims to build a self-sustaining city on Mars by delivering a sufficient payload to the planet with SpaceX’s Starship launch vehicle.
