Seth Rogen's Houseplant is at it again. The "Freaks and Geeks" and "Pineapple Express" actor and filmmaker's cannabis lifestyle brand launched a THC-infused, flavored sparkling water on Thursday.
Since its U.S. debut in March 2021, Houseplant — co-founded by Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Michael Mohr — has been a leader in destigmatizing cannabis culture with its tasteful and thoughtfully designed lifestyle and home goods.
Each of Houseplant’s products, including ceramic ashtrays and other cannabis-themed artwork, has a story behind it that’s been brought to life through thoughtful planning and lots of creativity. The same goes now for its THC-infused beverages.
“At Houseplant, our approach has always been to create the products we wish existed — and to do so with the highest standards,” said Mohr, Houseplant CEO in a press release. “It has been thrilling to innovate with THC beverages, creating a drink that’s both accessible in strength and convenient, in a familiar, smoke-free format.”

Not Everyone Wants To Smoke
“Not every situation is right for smoking, and not everyone wants to smoke,” said Rogen. “Houseplant beverages offer an approachable dose that’s perfect for those trying THC for the first time and for regular consumers like me who will love having a delicious, low-calorie, drinkable option. It’s sparkling water with THC in it – everybody loves a Houseplant.”
Mohr added that the launch was a natural step in Houseplant's evolution. “We are excited to be a part of this THC renaissance and look forward to bringing more products to market that millions of people are proud to own and consume.”
Tribute To Pineapple Express?
“Pineapple Express,” for those who may have missed it in 2008, is a hilarious buddy stoner action flick written by Seth Rogen who starred in it along with Evan Golberg and James Franco.
The Food & Wine Guide noted that after taste-testing every sparkling water they could find, the Houseplant threesome (Rogen, Goldberg, Mohr) landed on four sugar-free flavors: pineapple, citrus, black cherry and blackberry.
"It all starts with making something we would love to own or consume ourselves," said Mohr. "Black cherry is a classic flavor we all grew up drinking; citrus is a staple in all our fridges; blackberry is a bit more rare, but we figured out how to put our own spin on it and managed to make it incredibly delicious; and then pineapple — well, there's a little wink in there to Pineapple Express."
