Sony unveiled this new controller, originally referred to as Project Leonardo, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, which aims to develop a customizable PS5 controller to enhance the gaming experience for players with disabilities.
The Leonardo controller can be used alone or in conjunction with DualSense controllers, allowing collaborative gameplay. It features 3.5mm AUX ports for accessibility add-ons and can be positioned flat or mounted.
The controller addresses the challenges faced by gamers with limited motor control, similar to Microsoft's Xbox Adaptive Controller released in 2018. Sony's initiative follows Microsoft's leadership in prioritizing accessibility technology in the gaming industry.
