The director of Activision Blizzard Inc's ATVI Overwatch 2, Aaron Keller, responded to negative Steam reviews following the game's recent launch on the platform.
The launch introduced new content such as a support hero, game mode, PvE story missions, and free-to-play.

The launch resulted in a surge of negative reviews, with complaints centered on free-to-play monetization, game balance, lack of promised PvE content and a toxic player base.
Keller acknowledged the negative feedback in a blog post and stated that despite the review bombing, he was pleased to see new players trying out the game: "Our goal with Overwatch 2 has been to make the game more accessible than ever for more people than ever before."
He addressed the cancellation of a major PvE component announced in 2019, recognizing it as a primary reason for dissatisfaction.
"I get that. That announcement was about an ambitious project that we ultimately couldn’t deliver," the director acknowledged.
Keller emphasized the team's commitment to improving Overwatch 2 with additional content, including maps, heroes, game modes, stories, cosmetics and features.
"If we can’t turn back the clock, then what can we do? We can keep adding to and improving Overwatch 2," he added.
Keller concluded by urging players to give the game a chance on Steam and to appreciate its unique gameplay experience.
