Nvidia Corp NVDA announced that Fortnite, Epic Games' popular online video game, will feature the third generation of DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology.
This was revealed during Nvidia's Gamescom 2023 announcements, as reported by IGN.

DLSS 3 is an AI-driven performance enhancement tool that can significantly boost frame rates in supported games, offering up to four times the previous performance.
DLSS 3 is only compatible with Nvidia's RTX 40 series graphics cards, excluding owners of RTX 20 and 30 cards.
This marked the second time Nvidia introduced DLSS to Fortnite; in 2020, the company initiated DLSS 2 support.
In addition to Fortnite, Nvidia also announced several other games would be getting DLSS 3 support. These include titles such as Activision Blizzard Inc.'s ATVI Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, PayDay 3, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Alan Wake 2.
Some of these games, including Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Alan Wake 2, are also set to incorporate DLSS 3.5. This latest version of Nvidia's technology introduces a feature called ray reconstruction, which leverages AI networks to enhance ray-traced image quality on RTX 40 series GPUs, thus improving the overall visual experience.
