Microsoft Corporation MSFT has removed the $1 Xbox Game Pass trial just days before the release of the highly anticipated "Starfield."

Earlier this month, the Redmond, Washington-based company announced the end of the $1 monthly trial, but it reappeared in the 14-day format after a price increase for the subscription, IGN reported.

The removal of the 14-day trial was observed on the Xbox Game Pass sign-up page, leaving no trial options after discontinuing the full month $1 trial in August.

The new pricing for Game Pass is $9.99 / £7.99 for a month on PC, or $10.99 / £8.99 for a month on Xbox, or $16.99 / £12.99 for a month of Ultimate, if you sign up through Microsoft’s website.

The removal of the trial is expected to significantly boost Game Pass revenue and subscribers.

"Starfield" is set to launch globally on Xbox Series X|S and PC on Sept. 1.

Recently, Pete Hines, the head of publishing at Bethesda, revealed that in the upcoming game, the full depth of the experience unfolds after players complete the main story mission.

Hines shared that he spent around 80 hours engaging with faction-based quest lines and side activities before starting the main story, which took him about 50 hours to finish.

"We intentionally don’t talk about the main quest a lot because truthfully it is super spoilery," the Bethesda executive shared. "But I’m here to tell you that this game doesn’t even really get going until you finish the main quest."
