Larian Studios has confirmed that the popular Baldur's Gate 3 will be released on Xbox before the end of 2023.
Director Swen Vincke mentioned the release window is likely to be between September and November: "It's 2023. And 2023 is narrowing, so it's already pretty precise in my book. Between September and November... So, as fast as we can honestly," Vincke said, according to IGN.

The director said the studio was currently focused on launching the PS5 version and patching the PC version. Once those tasks were completed, they would shift their attention to the Xbox version.
Vincke assured the Xbox Series X version of the game was in good shape and the team was working on finishing it: "There's a bunch of stuff that needs to happen to finalize it. But I think from a content point of view and from a technical point of view, we're actually very close."
The initial delay for the Xbox version was due to split-screen issues on Xbox Series S, which were resolved after discussions with Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer.
Larian Studios was also working on optimizing the game's performance on various platforms and aiming for a consistent 60fps.
The studio wanted to make the game accessible to more players by reducing minimum PC specs, though it is a complex task.
In the meantime, the studio was working on Patch 2 and addressing bugs in the game.
Baldur's Gate 3 is scheduled to release on PS5 on Sept. 6.
Spencer addressed the upcoming release of Baldur's Gate 3 on PS5 before Xbox Series X/S, saying he doesn't "love" that the game launched before on Xbox's competitor.
"We want to make sure that games when they're launching on competitive platforms are also launching on Xbox, so we are going to learn from this experience as well, cause we don't love that," Xbox's CEO stated.
