Since Microsoft Corp.'s MSFT Starfield was released in paid early access form on Sept. 1, the game has achieved more than 10 million players, making it Bethesda's biggest launch ever.

The news was announced by Bethesda's official account on X (formerly known as Twitter), saying: "Thank you to more than 10 million #Starfield explorers for creating the biggest launch in Bethesda history."

The game reached this milestone after surpassing six million players on Sept. 7. The sci-fi role-playing game launched on PC and Xbox Series X and S, and it was also available on Game Pass.

Although specific sales figures haven't been disclosed, it peaked at 330,723 concurrent players on Valve's Steam. Starfield currently ranks 27th on Steam's all-time list, with Skyrim at 31st place and Fallout 4 at 16th place.

Moreover, during its launch week, it was the best-selling game in Europe and the fastest-selling new intellectual property (IP) of the year, ranking fifth overall for the year.

Starfield is also noted as the biggest Xbox launch this generation across Europe.

Recently, Nvidia Corp NVDA released an update to improve the performance of Starfield on RTX 30 and 40-series graphics cards. This update, delivered as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update, aims to boost the performance of GeForce RTX 40 Series desktop GPUs by an average of 5%.
