Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft Corporation's MSFT Xbox, has stated that a price hike for Xbox Game Pass is "inevitable."

This declaration comes in the wake of a recent price increase for the service, which was justified as being in line with inflation and economic factors.

Spencer added: "We recently raised our prices once, but the decision was made after careful consideration. We believe it is important to provide services that are recognized as being of sufficient value even if prices are increased."

The pricing for Game Pass is $9.99 / £7.99 for a month on PC, $10.99 / £8.99 for a month on Xbox, or $16.99 / £12.99 for a month of Ultimate, if you sign up through Microsoft’s website.

During the Xbox Digital Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2023, Microsoft made several announcements focusing on Japan and Japanese-inspired games.

"Japan will always have a special place in my heart for pioneering innovative ways to play, from the Game Boy to PSP, to the Switch," Spencer said.
