Sony Group Corp SONY has announced a new app called Sony Pictures Core for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.

This app will offer PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe members access to a wide selection of Sony Pictures Entertainment films, with the option to purchase or rent up to 2,000 Sony films directly from their consoles, the company announced in a blog post.

Some notable titles included are "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," "Uncharted," "Bullet Train," and "Ghostbusters: Afterlife." PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe subscribers will also enjoy an ad-free curated list of 100 films, with periodic updates.

Sony Pictures Core will have an "early access" window for exclusive movie releases, like "Gran Turismo."

Additionally, Sony teased that more benefits for PlayStation Plus members are on the horizon, including the inclusion of hit anime content from Crunchyroll in the future.

The app is available now, and Bravia Core will rebrand as Sony Pictures Core next year.
