"Baldur's Gate 3," a role-playing game based on Dungeons & Dragons, has gained notoriety for its sex speedrunning category, where players attempt to engage in intimate encounters with various in-game characters.
However, a recent patch, known as Patch #4, released by developer Larian Studios on Nov. 2, has brought significant changes to the game's romance mechanics and threatens the sex speedruns, according to Kotaku.

Previously, Githyanki warrior Lae'zel was a popular choice for speedrunners due to her relatively low requirements for romance.
However, Patch #4 has made Lae'zel more selective in choosing romantic partners, requiring players to prove themselves worthy through their in-game actions.
The sex speedrunning community is still exploring the new requirements and strategies to complete the category quickly.
Some players are considering characters like Astarion, whose storylines lead to romance in about two hours, as alternative options.
"Baldur's Gate 3" by Larian Studios had a successful debut on Amazon.com, Inc's AMZN Twitch and Valve's Steam with strong concurrent player numbers.
The game — launched on Aug. 3 — quickly gained popularity, reaching 340,000 concurrent players on Steam and around 480,000 viewers on Twitch.
The title gained a lot of popularity in part because it has romance options with a bear (or a Druid in bear form) and because it comes with full nudity options.
