The debut trailer for Take Two Interactive Software Inc's TTWO Grand Theft Auto 6 has become the second most-watched video game trailer of all time, surpassing Red Dead Redemption 2, CD Projekt SA's OTGLF Cyberpunk 2077, and Microsoft Corp.'s MSFT Minecraft.
With over 168 million views since its release on Dec. 4, 2023, it is set to launch on consoles in 2025.
However, it falls short of the top spot held by the 2012 mobile game Subway Surfers, which boasts over 361 million views. The trailer offers a glimpse into Rockstar's portrayal of Miami, Vice City, with intricate details and references to real-life events.

The game's release is scheduled for 2025 on Sony Group Corp.'s SONY PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, with no initial mention of PC. The trailer leak before the official release led to frustration among Rockstar developers, streamers facing content strikes, and a shared disappointment within the gaming industry.
The video introduces the game's female protagonist, Lucia, who starts her journey in prison within Vice City. It also hints at social media integration and showcases snippets of criminal activities amidst the Florida setting, including unexpected alligator appearances.
Set to Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road," the trailer teases Lucia's partnership with a male character: "The only way we're gonna get through this is by sticking together and being a team," the protagonist says at one point.
