The news follows leaks from dataminers who had previously discovered references to the Gundam crossover while examining the Season 3 Reloaded update. Additionally, these dataminers uncovered hints of other crossovers involving Fallout and The Crow for Season 4.
The Fallout crossover aligns with the recent surge in interest due to the Amazon.com Inc‘s AMZN Prime Video TV show adaptation, which has generated significant buzz around the franchise. This crossover is part of a broader trend, as Fortnite is also planning a Fallout-themed event.
Although full details about Season 4 have not been disclosed by Activision, it is known that the update will reintroduce the popular Kar98k bolt-action rifle. Furthermore, there is speculation about another potential crossover event with Prime Video's series The Boys, coinciding with its fourth season.
Overall, these crossovers highlight Activision’s strategy to integrate popular cultural franchises into Call of Duty, thereby enhancing the game’s appeal and relevance in the contemporary entertainment landscape.
