Capcom ADR‘s CCOEY Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which includes additional story content and expanded device support, contributed to sustained sales of around two million copies annually.

As a result, Resident Evil Village has become the third best-selling Resident Evil game, trailing only behind the Resident Evil 2 remake and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The franchise has sold a total of 157 million units.

Looking ahead, the Resident Evil franchise appears poised for more remakes and a new installment. Reports indicated remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica are in development, while fans eagerly anticipate the next main entry, tentatively referred to as Resident Evil 9.
