Elden Ring has reached a major milestone, selling 25 million units just ahead of its upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, which is set to release on June 21, 2024.
Developer FromSoftware shared this news on X/Twitter, expressing gratitude to the fans. The game had already sold 23 million units by March 2024, so it has added another two million in just a few months.

The release of Shadow of the Erdtree is expected to boost sales even more. This DLC will introduce a host of new content to the game.
As with FromSoftware’s previous titles like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, accessing the DLC won’t be straightforward; players will need to complete a series of challenging in-game tasks, including defeating an optional boss.
The expansion promises a new map, story, bosses, and items, adding even more depth to Elden Ring. Since its launch in 2022, the game has become a cultural sensation.
Players have found creative ways to interact with it, such as using a Fisher Price toy or the Nintendo Switch Ring Fit controller to play, and even developing a VR version.
The mere announcement of the expansion’s release date has already brought many players back to the game. This reflects the high anticipation and excitement surrounding this new content.
