No matter how you look at it, there's nothing enjoyable about infusion therapy. And that's especially true for patients suffering from serious conditions such as Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
For many years, patients have struggled with challenges ranging from multiple visits to in-patient clinics to poor service and high costs.
But Uptiv Health has stepped up to the table and raised $7.5 million in an effort to revolutionize infusion care.

Marking its debut with its first center in Michigan, the company aspires to combine superior, face-to-face infusion therapy with accessible, tailor-made virtual care management solutions.
Uptiv Health presents a consumer-friendly patient application and uses cutting-edge on-site facilities to bolster the patient experience. "We want to humanize the infusion care experience by providing whole-person care. And by being a tech-forward organization that's going to marry retail-based infusion centers with technology, we think that's a winning formula, both for the individual going through a complex journey as well as the broader system," Uptiv Health Co-Founder and CEO Torben Nielsen said in a recent interview. "Uptiv Health is a nice combination of software and infusion centers. The premise of Uptiv Health is how do we improve chronic condition management in today's healthcare system? We want to start out by looking at infusion and how infusion is done today. We found there are lots of opportunities to really improve that experience."
The Uptiv Health Way
Uptiv Health has adopted a patient-focused strategy, providing flexible appointment options that accommodate patients' schedules, including after-hours services and 24/7 access to healthcare personnel via the Uptiv Health app.
The app serves as a digital portal for patients to onboard, schedule appointments, process payments and maintain ongoing communication with their care team. It also facilitates symptom tracking, adding another layer of convenience and personalization to the patient experience.
Uptiv Health prides itself on an integrated team of highly qualified clinicians, encompassing family nurse practitioners, registered nurses, nutritionists and behavioral health specialists. Patients at Uptiv Health can anticipate the same caliber of staff they would encounter in hospital environments but with added benefits tailored for a more comfortable and convenient experience. These include private infusion suites, Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs with streaming services, weekend availability and upfront pricing transparency, Nielsen said. Uptiv Health aims to offer a superior and stress-free therapeutic experience.
As for the $7.5 million in seed funding, the company plans to move into new markets and expand its services.
