Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and his wife Nadine are set to face a trial for bribery and corruption charges in May 2024.
As reported by CNBC on Monday, a federal judge has scheduled the trial to kick off May 6, 2024. Menendez and his wife are accused of accepting significant bribes in return for the senator’s influence and protection for three New Jersey business associates.

The charges were presented by U.S. Attorney Damian Williams of the Southern District of New York. The indictment alleges that the couple received bribes in various forms, including cash, gold, contributions toward a home mortgage, a luxury vehicle and other items of value. Furthermore, it is claimed that one of the alleged bribes included compensation for a low- or-no-show job for Nadine Menendez.
The trial is expected to shed light on the extent of the bribery and corruption charges against the couple.
