The former US President, Donald Trump, has made a claim that the recent Hamas attacks on Israel and the Ukraine war would not have unfolded if he had been the sitting president.
What Happened: The Hill reported that Trump, in a Truth Social post on Sunday, argued that both Israel and Ukraine would not have been attacked had he been in office.
"THE HORRIBLE ATTACK ON ISRAEL, MUCH LIKE THE ATTACK ON UKRAINE, WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED IF I WERE PRESIDENT – ZERO CHANCE!" Trump said in a recent Truth Social post.
This reportedly follows the deadliest Hamas attack on Israel in years leading to over 1,100 fatalities and the capture of several Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Trump expressed admiration for his support to the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, including endorsing Israel’s claim to Golan Heights and acknowledging Jerusalem as the nation’s capital.
While speaking in Waterloo, Iowa, Trump attributed the assaults to the image of the U.S. as “weak and ineffective”. He also reiterated his frequent assertion that Russian President Vladimir Putin “would have never gone into Ukraine” had he remained in power.
Why It Matters: Trump has previously boasted that he could have saved lives in the Ukraine war. He also criticized Europe’s minimal contribution to aid provided to Ukraine compared to the substantial support from the U.S.
Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had previously urged Trump to share his peace plan for the ongoing conflict with Russia, rejecting any suggestions of territorial concessions to Russia.
