Rocket Lab USA Inc RKLB reported third-quarter financial results after the market close on Tuesday. Here’s a look at the key details from the report.
Q3 Earnings: Rocket Lab reported third-quarter revenue of $104.81 million, beating the consensus estimate of $102.28 million. The end-to-end space company reported a quarterly loss of 10 cents per share, beating analyst estimates for a loss of 11 cents per share, according to Benzinga Pro.
Total revenue was up 55% on a year-over-year basis. Rocket Lab noted it achieved a new annual launch record of 12 Electron launches to date, and still has more launches scheduled throughout November and December.
Rocket Lab also said it completed production and delivery of two spacecraft on time and on budget for NASA’s ESCAPADE mission to Mars during the quarter.
“In the third quarter 2024, we once again executed against our end-to-end space strategy with successes and key achievements reached across small and medium launch, as well as space systems. Revenue grew 55% year-on-year to $105 million and we continue to see strong demand growth with our backlog at $1.05 billion,” said Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab.

Outlook: Rocket Lab expects fourth-quarter revenue in the range of $125 million to $135 million. The company anticipates an adjusted EBITDA loss of $27 million to $29 million in the fourth quarter.
“We expect to close out the year strongly with more Electron launches scheduled in November and December, alongside continued progress across Neutron and space systems, that is behind our guidance for a record $125-$135 million revenue quarter in Q4,” Beck said.
Rocket Lab executives will further discuss the quarter on a call with analysts and investors at 5 p.m. ET.
What Else: Rocket Lab also issued three additional press releases after the market close on Tuesday. The company announced a multi-launch agreement with a confidential commercial satellite constellation operator, an award of up to $8 million from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and the scheduling details for its next Electron launch for Kinéis.
RKLB Price Action: Rocket Lab shares were up 18.55% in after hours, trading at $17.47 at the time of publication Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro.
