Millions of dollars will be gambled on Super Bowl LVIII. While most of that money will go toward predicting a winner between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs, an exorbitant amount of cash will be at stake for various parlays and prop bets.

One bettor even wagered on a Super Bowl first a team scoring exactly two points.

What Happened: One bettor at Caesars Sportsbook CZR bet $100 on the Kansas City Chiefs scoring exactly two points during Super Bowl LVIII, according to a report from the New York Post.

The bet has odds of 10,000 to 1, which means the bet would post a profit of $1 million if this is the correct outcome.

It’s a whacky wager. After all, the Chiefs averaged 21.8 points per game during the regular season and 23.3 points per game in the postseason.

The 49ers have been praised for their defense and allowed 17.5 points per game in the regular season. In the NFL Playoffs, the 49ers allowed 21 points and 31 points in their two games, for an average of 26 points allowed per game.

During the regular season, the Chief's lowest points total was nine points in a loss to the Denver Broncos. The 49ers held the Jacksonville Jaguars to only three points scored in Week 10 of the regular season.

Unlikely Odds, Breaking History: Safeties, in which a team scores two points, are fairly rare in Super Bowls. Only nine of the defensive scores happened in the history of the big game. The last safety that happened was in Super Bowl LVIII in 2014.

There have been 57 Super Bowls in the history of the National Football League. None of these contests have seen a team score exactly two points.

The lowest point total by a team was three points scored by the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl LVI and the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

Other low point totals include one team scoring six points, five teams scoring seven points, one team scoring eight points and two teams scoring nine points. This means that of the 57 Super Bowls played, only 11 teams have scored under 10 points.

Along with Super Bowl history working against the bettor, there's also the history of Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes who is 14-3 in NFL Playoff games.

Mahomes has also only been in one Chiefs game where the team scored three or fewer points, which would make two points total for the Chiefs a new low in his NFL career.

The Chiefs have only been held to single digits in two games featuring Mahomes.

The current odds for Super Bowl LVIII have the 49ers favored by two points and the over/under set at 47.5 points for the two teams combined, based on odds from sportsbook DraftKings Inc DKNG.

The overall odds of a safety being scored are +1,000 and the 49ers scoring a safety are +2,200.

Super Bowl LVIII will air on CBS and Nickelodeon and stream on Paramount+, all units of Paramount Global Inc PARAPARAA, on Sunday, Feb. 11.
