Apple Said to Revive Grand Central Store Plans

In February, Apple was rumored to be mulling setting up its largest store in New York's Grand Central terminal. The plans were shelved a month later, but The Wall Street Journal is now reporting the Cupertino company may yet revive its plans. The Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA) is looking for new tenants to fill two balconies on the north and east sides of the train terminal, and Apple is eyeing the spot for its fifth Manhattan retail location, reports the Journal. An MTA spokesperson told the Journal the agency is hoping Apple will bid on the space, which at 15,230-square-feet isn't the largest Apple outlet in the city. Location-wise, however, Grand Central will have plenty of footfall traffic for the gadget maker to benefit from, according to the Journal. Via Design TAXI News.
