First Trust Global Tactical Commodity Strategy Fund

The fund is an actively managed exchange-traded fund (ETF) that seeks to achieve attractive risk adjusted return by investing in commodity futures contracts and exchange-traded commodity linked instruments (collectively, Commodities Instruments) through a wholly-owned subsidiary of the fund organized under the laws of the Cayman Islands (the Subsidiary). Donald J. Trump's social media company is considering developing a cryptocurrency payment service, according to a trademark application filed this week, the latest sign of the president-elect's embrace of the crypto industry.
Trump Media &amp; Technology Group <a href="https://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=98859006&amp;caseSearchType=US_APPLICATION&amp;caseType=DEFAULT&amp;searchType=statusSearch">filed an application on Monday</a> for a service called TruthFi, which it described as a platform for crypto payments, financial custody services and trading in digital assets.
The application was light on details about how the project would work or how close it was to fruition. But the initiative appears to be a bid by Trump Media to diversify its business beyond Truth Social, a social media platform whose business relies on Mr. Trump to continuously post messages to his most loyal supporters.
Any large-scale crypto project would likely require Trump Media to acquire another firm, given that it has fewer than three dozen employees. This week, shares in the crypto trading platform Bakkt surged, after the Financial Times <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/d7f921d5-3668-4b6b-a98d-2681ad73610f">reported</a> that Trump Media was in talks to buy it.

Trump Media did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Bakkt, which is losing money, <a href="https://investors.bakkt.com/news/news-details/2024/Bakkt-Statement-on-Transaction-Rumors/default.aspx">put out a statement</a> on Tuesday saying it does not comment on market speculation or rumors.
Josh Gerben, a Washington D.C.-based trademark lawyer, said that the filing is a way for Trump Media to reserve the TruthFi name if it goes forward with a crypto business. He said that companies can usually reserve a name for as long as a few years. But companies typically file a trademark application with the intent to use it.
"In my experience, most of the time if a client is going to file an application, there is something going on," Mr. Gerben said.
Trump Media is currently valued at around $6.5 billion, despite taking in just over <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/06/business/trump-media-stock-price.html">$1 million in revenue</a> in the third quarter — all of it from advertising on Truth Social. With Truth Social struggling to gain new users and advertising despite Mr. Trump's popularity, Trump Media needs new businesses to bolster its revenue.
Mr. Trump has no formal role in the company that bears his name, but he owns nearly 53 percent of Trump Media's stock, and that stake — valued at $3.4 billion — is his most valuable asset. His eldest son, Donald Jr., is a member of Trump Media's board, which is stocked with loyalists to the president-elect.

Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UTI#NYSE">UTI</a>) reported better-than-expected earnings for its fourth <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/UTI/earnings">quarter on Wednesday</a>.
The company posted quarterly earnings of 34 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 30 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $196.36 million which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $191.39 million.
&#8220;We concluded the first stage of our North Star Strategy in fiscal 2024 achieving both strong results and momentum,&#8221; said Jerome Grant, CEO of Universal Technical Institute, Inc. &#8220;We met or exceeded guidance across all key metrics with full year revenue and adjusted EBITDA increasing over 21% and 60% year-over-year, respectively. These results reflect our consistent execution on the growth, diversification, and optimization tenets of our strategic plan as we continue ramping newly launched programs across both divisions, while further improving margins through workforce and facilities optimization.
Universal Technical Institute said it sees FY25 earnings of 93 cents to $1.01 per share on revenue of $800 million to $815 million.
Universal Technical Institute shares jumped 20.3% to trade at $23.92 on Thursday.

Wall Street witnessed a positive momentum on Thursday as investor risk appetite remained resilient despite escalating geopolitical tensions in Europe. The market brushed off concerns following a Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian military facility overnight, which came in response to Ukrainian missile <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42113449/natural-gas-prices-spike-to-over-1-year-highs-oil-surges-to-70-as-russia-fires-intercontinental-ballistic-missile-to-ukraine">attacks earlier this week. </a>
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a televised address on Thursday, stated that after the use of long-range missiles from Ukraine, &#8220;the regional conflict gained elements of global one.&#8221;
Major U.S. indices traded higher by midday trading in New York, with standout performances among blue-chip stocks and small-cap equities. 
The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 500 points, reaching 43,965, marking a 1.3% gain and its strongest session in over two weeks.
The Russell 2000 outperformed with a 1.7% jump, setting up its best day since the post-election rally. 
In contrast, the Nasdaq 100 lagged slightly, rising 0.5%. Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>), despite higher-than-expected earnings, failed to spark broader optimism in the tech sector. Meanwhile, shares of Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>)(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) tumbled nearly 6% after the Department of Justice (DOJ) mandated the sale of Google Chrome aimed at curbing Google&#8217;s dominant position in search and digital advertising.
Geopolitical uncertainties drove strong gains in the commodities market. <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/42118286/7-us-natural-gas-stocks-to-watch-as-henry-hub-prices-surge-50-in-november">Natural gas Henry Hub prices </a>soared 5%, bringing year-to-date gains to over 50% and marking the best monthly performance since July 2022. Crude oil prices also climbed 0.9%, supported by supply concerns.
Gold extended its winning streak, rising 0.7% for its fourth consecutive session of gains as investors sought safe-haven assets.
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) continued its rally, rising over 3% and hitting an intraday high of $98,367. The largest cryptocurrency now hovers tantalizingly close to the $100,000 milestone.
