<p>Pfizer Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/pfe#NYSE">PFE</a>) is among the many pharmaceutical companies that turned to oncology in response to sinking demand for its COVID-19 products and near patent expiration dates for its several top-sellers.</p>
<p>At the end of 2023, Pfizer completed its acquisition of&nbsp;Seagen Inc. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/sgen#NASDAQ">SGEN</a>),&nbsp;a biotechnology leader in transformative cancer medicines.&nbsp;Although Pfizer still has a few growth best-sellers,&nbsp;migraine therapy Nurtec and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine, Pfizer is betting on such big&nbsp;business development deals to boost its annual revenue by close to $25 billion by the end of the decade.&nbsp;Last year, the U.S. FDA also approved Pfizer&rsquo;s blood cancer therapy.&nbsp;</p>
<p>But cancer is one of the most complex diseases in human history, a battle that pharma still hasn&rsquo;t won. Pfizer made it its mission to outdo cancer, so did its&nbsp;COVID-19 peer, Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/mrna#NASDAQ">MRNA</a>). Moderna is also betting its growth story on revolutionizing cancer treatment. Also at the end of 2023, Moderna revealed new trial data that showed that combining its cancer vaccine with a standard treatment for melanoma significantly reduces the risk of death and recurrence of the most-deadly type of skin cancer. Along with another&nbsp;pharma giant Merck&nbsp;&amp; Co Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/mrk#NYSE">MRK</a>), Moderna not only developed the&nbsp;mRNA-based cancer vaccine for melanoma, but also tested it in combination with Keytruda, an FDA-approved cancer treatment that Merck developed. Back in 2022, the trial showed that two years after the treatment, the combo lowered the high-risk patients&rsquo; risk of recurrence or death by 44% compared to treatment of Keytruda alone. Before 2023 ended, Merck and Moderna proudly confirmed these results, with the newest trial data showing even greater durability of their combined therapy. Three years after the treatment, patients who received the Moderna and Merck vaccine and immunotherapy drug were&nbsp;49% less likely to experience recurrence or death compared to patients who were only treated with Keytruda. Moreover, the combo group was also 62% less likely to experience distant metastasis or death. Now, Moderna and Merck are also going beyond melanoma as they entered phase 3 trial to test their cancer vaccine in patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer.</p>
<p>As optimistic as these findings are, they refer to late-stages of the world&rsquo;s deadliest disease. Moreover, they&nbsp;merely succeded in&nbsp;lowering the risk of the worst possible outcome and recurrence. <p>Pfizer recently provided its full-year 2024 guidance, which includes the expected financial impact from the Seagen transaction. For FY24, the pharma giant expects revenue of $58.5 billion-$61.5 billion, including the expected contribution from the Seagen acquisition <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech/23/12/36213638/why-is-us-pharma-giant-pfizer-stock-trading-lower-today">versus the consensus of $63.17 billion</a>.</p>
<p>With the recent buzz around Pfizer, some investors may be eyeing potential gains from the company&rsquo;s dividends. As of now, Pfizer offers an annual dividend yield of 5.84%, which is a quarterly dividend amount of 42 cents per share ($1.68 a year).</p>
<p>So, how can investors exploit its dividend yield to pocket a regular $500 monthly?</p>

<p>Last Tuesday, Pfizer Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/pfe#NYSE">PFE</a>) said&nbsp;it expects to close its $43 billion deal to buy cancer drugmaker Seagen&nbsp;Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/sgen#NASDAQ">SGEN</a>)&nbsp;later this week. Pfizer is planning&nbsp;to create a new oncology division that includes the acquisition early next year.</p>
<p>Last Thursday, Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/mrna#NASDAQ">MRNA</a>) revealed its clinical trial results, showing that the cancer vaccine is developing with Merck &amp; Co Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/mrk#NYSE">MRK</a>) combined with Merck&rsquo;s Keytruda immunotherapy, cut&nbsp;the risk of recurrence or death from the &quot;most serious form of skin cancer&quot;&nbsp;by&nbsp;almost half after three years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Data from a trial&nbsp;that involved&nbsp;157 patients with high-risk stage III/IV melanoma&nbsp;revealed that the&nbsp;combination of&nbsp;the vaccine that Moderna and Merck developed, along with Merck&rsquo;s immunotherapy drug&nbsp;reduced the risk of recurrence or death&nbsp;from melanoma&nbsp;by 49%,&nbsp;compared to those just taking Keytruda alone.&nbsp;According to Moderna, the&nbsp;combination lowers the chances of melanoma spreading elsewhere in the human body by&nbsp;as much as&nbsp;62%. Among the&nbsp;the most common side effects of people in the trial, Moderna named&nbsp;fatigue,&nbsp;injection site pain and chills.Moderna said that this year,&nbsp;there&nbsp;will be nearly 100,000 new cases of melanoma diagnosed and almost 8,000 deaths resulting from the disease in the U.S.</p>

<p>Merck (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MRK#NYSE">MRK</a>), known as MSD outside of the United States and Canada, today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved KEYTRUDA, Merck&#39;s anti-PD-1 therapy, in combination with Padcev (enfortumab vedotin-ejfv), an antibody-drug conjugate, for the treatment of adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer. The FDA approved this application nearly five months ahead of the PDUFA goal date of May 9, 2024.</p>
<p>The approval is based on data from the Phase 3 KEYNOTE-A39 trial (also known as EV-302) in 886 patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer, which was conducted in a research collaboration with Pfizer (previously Seagen) and Astellas. In the trial, KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in the trial&#39;s major efficacy endpoints of overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) versus platinum-based chemotherapy (gemcitabine plus cisplatin or carboplatin). KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin reduced the risk of death by&nbsp;53%&nbsp;(HR=0.47 [95%&nbsp;CI, 0.38-0.58]; p&lt;0.0001) versus platinum-based chemotherapy. Median OS was 31.5 months (95%&nbsp;CI, 25.4-not reached) for KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin versus 16.1 months (95%&nbsp;CI, 13.9-18.3) for platinum-based chemotherapy. KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin reduced the risk of disease progression or death by&nbsp;55%&nbsp;(HR=0.45 [95%&nbsp;CI, 0.38-0.54]; p&lt;0.0001) versus platinum-based chemotherapy. Median PFS was 12.5 months (95%&nbsp;CI, 10.4-16.6) for KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin versus 6.3 months (95%&nbsp;CI, 6.2-6.5) for platinum-based chemotherapy.</p>
<p>The trial also demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in objective response rate (ORR) in patients randomized to receive KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin compared with patients randomized to receive platinum-based chemotherapy. The ORR was&nbsp;68%&nbsp;(95%&nbsp;CI, 63-72) for KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin versus&nbsp;44%&nbsp;(95%&nbsp;CI, 40-49) for platinum-based chemotherapy (p&lt;0.0001). For KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin, the complete response (CR) rate was&nbsp;29%&nbsp;and the partial response (PR) rate was&nbsp;39%, and for platinum-based chemotherapy, the CR rate was&nbsp;12%&nbsp;and the PR rate was&nbsp;32%. Efficacy results (OS, PFS and ORR) were consistent across all stratified patient subgroups.</p>
<p>Immune-mediated adverse reactions, which may be severe or fatal, can occur in any organ system or tissue and can affect more than one body system simultaneously. Immune-mediated adverse reactions can occur at any time during or after treatment with KEYTRUDA, including pneumonitis, colitis, hepatitis, endocrinopathies, nephritis, dermatologic reactions, solid organ transplant rejection, and complications of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Important immune-mediated adverse reactions listed here may not include all possible severe and fatal immune-mediated adverse reactions. In accordance with accelerated approval regulations, continued approval was contingent upon verification and description of clinical benefit; these accelerated approval requirements have been fulfilled with the data from KEYNOTE-A39.</p>
<p>This approval was reviewed under the FDA&#39;s Real-Time Oncology Review program, which aims to improve the efficiency of the review process of applications to ensure that treatments are available to patients as early as possible.</p>
<p><strong>Study design and additional data supporting the approval</strong></p>
<p>KEYNOTE-A39 is an open-label, multicenter, randomized, active-controlled Phase 3 trial (ClinicalTrials.gov,&nbsp;<a href="https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fclinicaltrials.gov%2Fstudy%2FNCT04223856&amp;esheet=53871946&amp;newsitemid=20231215248830&amp;lan=en-US&amp;anchor=NCT04223856&amp;index=2&amp;md5=b6400413f5f37bb790171088fd23f4a8">NCT04223856</a>) evaluating KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin compared to platinum-based chemotherapy (gemcitabine plus cisplatin or carboplatin) for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer who received no prior systemic therapy for locally advanced or metastatic disease. Patients randomized to the chemotherapy arm were allowed to receive maintenance immunotherapy. The trial enrolled 886 patients who were randomized (1:1) to receive either:</p>

<li>KEYTRUDA 200 mg over 30 minutes on Day 1 and enfortumab vedotin 1.25 mg/kg on Days 1 and 8 of each 21-day cycle. KEYTRUDA was given approximately 30 minutes after enfortumab vedotin. Treatment was continued until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. In the absence of disease progression or unacceptable toxicity, KEYTRUDA was continued for up to two years, or;</li>
<li>Gemcitabine 1000 mg/m2&nbsp;on Days 1 and 8 of a 21-day cycle with cisplatin 70 mg/m2&nbsp;or carboplatin (AUC 4.5 or 5) on Day 1 of a 21-day cycle. Treatment was continued until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity for up to 6 cycles.</li>
</ul>
<p>Randomization was stratified by cisplatin eligibility, PD-L1 expression and presence of liver metastases.</p>
<p>The major efficacy outcome measures were OS and PFS as assessed by blinded independent central review (BICR) according to RECIST v1.1. Additional outcome measures included ORR as assessed by BICR.</p>
<p>Among patients who received KEYTRUDA and enfortumab vedotin (n=440), the median duration of exposure to KEYTRUDA was 8.5 months (range: 9 days to 28.5 months). Fatal adverse reactions occurred in&nbsp;3.9%&nbsp;of patients receiving KEYTRUDA plus enfortumab vedotin, including acute respiratory failure (0.7%), pneumonia (0.5%) and pneumonitis/interstitial lung disease (ILD) (0.2%). Serious adverse reactions occurred in&nbsp;50%&nbsp;of patients receiving KEYTRUDA in combination with enfortumab vedotin; the serious adverse reactions in &ge;2%&nbsp;of patients were rash (6%), acute kidney injury (5%), pneumonitis/ILD (4.5%), urinary tract infection (3.6%), diarrhea (3.2%), pneumonia (2.3%), pyrexia (2%) and hyperglycemia (2%). Permanent discontinuation of KEYTRUDA occurred in&nbsp;27%&nbsp;of patients. The most common adverse reactions (&ge;2%) resulting in permanent discontinuation of KEYTRUDA were pneumonitis/ILD (4.8%) and rash (3.4%). The most common adverse reactions (&ge;20%) occurring in patients treated with KEYTRUDA in combination with enfortumab vedotin were rash (68%), peripheral neuropathy (67%), fatigue (51%), pruritus (41%), diarrhea (38%), alopecia (35%), weight loss (33%), decreased appetite (33%), nausea (26%), constipation (26%), dry eye (24%), dysgeusia (21%) and urinary tract infection (21%).</p>

<p>HER2CLIMB was a multinational randomized (2:1), double-blind, placebo-controlled, active comparator, pivotal clinical trial comparing TUKYSA in combination with trastuzumab and capecitabine compared with trastuzumab and capecitabine alone in patients with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer who were previously treated with trastuzumab, pertuzumab and T-DM1. The primary endpoint of the trial was PFS per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) v1.1 as determined by blinded independent central review (BICR) in the first 480 patients enrolled in the trial. HER2CLIMB enrolled a total of 612 patients to support the analyses of key secondary endpoints, including OS, PFS per BICR in patients with brain metastases at baseline and confirmed objective response rate. Based on the severity of the diarrhea, interrupt dose, then dose reduce or permanently discontinue TUKYSA.</li>

<p>In HER2CLIMB, when TUKYSA was given in combination with trastuzumab and capecitabine, 81% of patients who received TUKYSA experienced diarrhea, including 0.5% with Grade 4 and 12% with Grade 3. Both patients who developed Grade 4 diarrhea subsequently died, with diarrhea as a contributor to death. Median time to onset of the first episode of diarrhea was 12 days and the median time to resolution was 8 days. Diarrhea led to TUKYSA dose reductions in 6% of patients and TUKYSA discontinuation in 1% of patients. Prophylactic use of antidiarrheal treatment was not required on HER2CLIMB.</p>
<p>In MOUNTAINEER, when TUKYSA was given in combination with trastuzumab, diarrhea occurred in 64% of patients, including Grade 3 (3.5%), Grade 2 (10%) and Grade 1 (50%).</p>

<li><strong>Embryo-Fetal Toxicity:</strong> TUKYSA can cause fetal harm. Advise pregnant women and females of reproductive potential of the potential risk to a fetus. <p>In HER2CLIMB, serious adverse reactions occurred in 26% of patients; the most common (in ≥2% of patients) were diarrhea (4%), vomiting (2.5%), nausea (2%), abdominal pain (2%), and seizure (2%). Fatal adverse reactions occurred in 2% of patients who received TUKYSA including sudden death, sepsis, dehydration, and cardiogenic shock. Adverse reactions led to treatment discontinuation in 6% of patients who received TUKYSA; the most common (in ≥1% of patients) were hepatotoxicity (1.5%) and diarrhea (1%). Adverse reactions led to dose reduction in 21% of patients who received TUKYSA; the most common (in ≥2% of patients) were hepatotoxicity (8%) and diarrhea (6%). The most common adverse reactions in patients who received TUKYSA (≥20%) were diarrhea, palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia, nausea, hepatotoxicity, vomiting, stomatitis, decreased appetite, anemia and rash.</p>
<p>In MOUNTAINEER, serious adverse reactions occurred in 22% of patients; the most common (in ≥2% of patients) were intestinal obstruction (7%), urinary tract infection (3.5%), pneumonia, abdominal pain and rectal perforation (2.3% each). Adverse reactions leading to permanent discontinuation of TUKYSA occurred in 6% of patients; the most common (in ≥2% of patients) was increased ALT (2.3%). Adverse reactions leading to dosage interruption occurred in 23% of patients; the most common (in ≥3% of patients) were increased ALT and diarrhea (3.5% each). Adverse reactions leading to dose reduction occurred in 9% of patients; the most common (in ≥2% of patients) were increased ALT and diarrhea (2.3% each). The mean increase in serum creatinine was 32% within the first 21 days of treatment with TUKYSA. The serum creatinine increases persisted throughout treatment and were reversible upon treatment completion. Consider alternative markers of renal function if persistent elevations in serum creatinine are observed.</p>
<p>In MOUNTAINEER, Grade ≥3 laboratory abnormalities reported in ≥5% of patients who received TUKYSA were decreased lymphocytes, decreased sodium, increased AST, and increased bilirubin. In its 2022 Investor Presentation the company was forecasting a <a href="https://investor.incyte.com/static-files/776ce652-3575-41ea-aeaf-6a023ab3c3ed" target="_blank">2-3 million addressable audience</a> for atopic dermatitis.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Even before that approval, Incyte was showing year-over-year growth in revenue and earnings based on its existing hematology/oncology and inflammation and autoimmunity portfolio. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Incyte is projecting a 29% growth in earnings in 2024 and <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/stocks/incy/forecast">analysts project the stock to grow by 23%</a> in the next year. The company has a forward P/E ratio of around 20x earnings which makes it an attractive value in a segment known for high valuations. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Interestingly, there are no Big Pharma companies listed in the &ldquo;Magnificent Seven.&rdquo; Consequently, perfectly good companies like <strong>Pfizer</strong>&nbsp;(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/pfe-stock-quote/"><strong>PFE</strong></a>)&nbsp;are being overlooked, but that&rsquo;s not bad news at all. If you appreciate a good value and like to collect dividends, stick around as today&rsquo;s Pfizer stock analysis will bring you a &ldquo;magnificent&rdquo; pick for 2024. </p>



<p>Now, I&rsquo;m not going to claim that Pfizer is a problem-free company. It&rsquo;s important to be aware of Pfizer&rsquo;s challenges. However, without problems, there would be no cheap stocks and buy-the-dip opportunities. Keep that in mind when you&rsquo;re evaluating Pfizer stock, and don&rsquo;t be so focused on the &ldquo;Magnificent Seven&rdquo; that you miss out on underappreciated gems.</p>



<h2>Why Did PFE Stock Lose So Much Value?</h2>



<p><em>InvestorPlace</em> contributor Chris Markoch succinctly summed up one of Pfizer&rsquo;s major issues in 2023. Markoch observed that PFE stock &ldquo;<a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/01/3-pharma-stocks-could-be-the-pills-your-portfolio-needs/">dropped over 35%</a> as revenue from its Covid-19 products cratered.&rdquo;</p>



<p>Clearly, it was a tough time to be a Big Pharma business in a post-Covid world. Furthermore, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla acknowledged that the company&rsquo;s respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine, Abrysvo, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/pfizer-remain-aggressive-obesity-market-after-setback-2024-01-08/">was a disappointment</a> last year. Abrysvo only comprised around 35% of the RSV-drug market share in the U.S., a situation that Bourla found &ldquo;very unacceptable.&rdquo;</p>



<p>Here&rsquo;s what I really like about the CEO&rsquo;s attitude. He&rsquo;s willing to accept responsibility and admit failures. You may have seen chief executives only act as cheerleaders, but Bourla didn&rsquo;t fall into that trap. He&rsquo;re his statement on this topic:</p>

<p>Looking ahead to the remainder of this year, Bourla and Pfizer will focus on other potentially lucrative and lifesaving pharma fields. In particular, Pfizer will concentrate on cancer-fighting drugs since the company <a href="https://www.seattletimes.com/business/pfizers-answer-to-tumbling-stock-is-focusing-on-crowded-cancer-drug-market/">acquired</a> <strong>Seagen</strong>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/sgen-stock-quote/"><strong>SGEN</strong></a>) and therefore <a href="https://www.pfizer.com/seagen">has access to</a> treatments that target tumors.</p>



<p>Moreover, Pfizer will pivot to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pfizer.com/science/innovation/precision-medicine" target="_blank">precision medicine</a> while also competing in the red-hot market for weight-loss drugs. &ldquo;Pfizer&rsquo;s position is that we believe obesity is a place that we have the&nbsp;<a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/1-weight-loss-drug-windfall-181048449.html">ability to play and win</a>. So we will have to play,&rdquo;&nbsp;Bourla&nbsp;assured. Pfizer may look like a latecomer in the obesity-drugs market, but remember that this is a pharmaceutical giant with plenty of capital to develop and commercialize novel treatments.</p>



<p>Investors will have to be patient if they plan to profit with Pfizer stock. It&rsquo;s a great time to take a share position, though. Believe it or not, Pfizer&rsquo;s GAAP trailing 12-month price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is very reasonable at&nbsp;<a href="https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/PFE/valuation/metrics">15.45x</a>, versus the sector median P/E ratio of 31.47x.</p>



<h2>Pfizer Stock Analysis: Chill Out and Reinvest Those Dividends</h2>



<p>Pfizer pays a forward dividend yield of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.tipranks.com/stocks/pfe/dividends">5.77%</a>, which is much better than the average healthcare sector dividend yield of around 1.5%. That&rsquo;s another reason to consider a share position, along with Pfizer&rsquo;s great value proposition and potential turnaround story.</p>



<p>So, don&rsquo;t be afraid to invest in the biggest of Big Pharma. Pfizer won&rsquo;t be in the market&rsquo;s doghouse forever, and Pfizer could succeed in 2024 with novel drugs outside of Covid-19 vaccines. Therefore, my Pfizer stock analysis recommends a buy-and-hold position and reinvesting the dividends for maximum returns over time.</p>

Pfizer's 2024 Comeback: A Dividend Gem in the Pharma Market

<p>The risk-on sentiment is returning, with the market closing at new record highs daily. That means many investors are steering clear of&nbsp;<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-types/dividend-stocks/" target="_blank"></a><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-types/dividend-stocks/">dividend stocks</a>. This is particularly true of dividend stocks that are trading at or near their 52-week lows.</p>



<p>This isn&rsquo;t intended to be a contrarian article. In fact, it&rsquo;s the opposite. When looking at stocks trading near 52-week lows, the question you have to ask is, why? If the reason for the stock&rsquo;s slump is short-lived or has already passed, these stocks can offer investors an appealing opportunity in what may still be a volatile market.</p>



<p>That&rsquo;s the case with the seven dividend stocks in this article. All of them have dropped sharply in the last 12 months. But each stock has fundamental reasons why the story should turn around in 2024 and beyond.</p>



<h2>Pfizer (PFE)</h2>

<p>The fact that&nbsp;<strong>Pfizer</strong>&nbsp;(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/pfe-stock-quote/" target="_blank"><strong>PFE</strong></a>) is trading near its 52-week low is unsurprising. The biotech company is reporting sharply lower revenue and earnings as the shine has come off its COVID-19 halo. But two things can be true at the same time. In the case of Pfizer, the other truth is the stock is fundamentally undervalued.</p>



<p>Analysts want Pfizer to show them, not tell them, how the company will replace its COVID-19 revenue. Pfizer took the first steps to do that in its recent earnings presentation.</p>



<p>The company had a record number of FDA approvals in 2023. It completed its acquisition of&nbsp;<strong>Seagen&nbsp;</strong>(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/sgen-stock-quote/" target="_blank"><strong>SGEN</strong></a>), which will&nbsp;<a href="https://s28.q4cdn.com/781576035/files/doc_financials/2023/q4/Q4-2023-Earnings-Charts-FINAL.pdf" target="_blank">double the company&rsquo;s oncology portfolio</a>, and it is forecasted to have eight blockbuster oncology drugs approved by 2030.</p>



<p>And it&rsquo;s important to note that the company&rsquo;s revenue, excluding its COVID products, was up 7%, which was in line with the company&rsquo;s guidance of growth between 6% and 8%.</p>



<p>PFE stock is trading at just&nbsp;<a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/3-blue-chip-stocks-to-buy-for-high-total-returns-by-2025/" target="_blank">12.3x forward earnings</a>, which doesn&rsquo;t factor in any of the company&rsquo;s projected 24% earnings growth over the next 12 months. And even if this growth isn&rsquo;t realized immediately, investors can still get a juicy dividend with a 6.10% dividend yield.</p>



<h2>Philip Morris (PM)</h2>

<p>At this time last year, you might have expected&nbsp;<strong>Philip Morris&nbsp;</strong>(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/pm-stock-quote/" target="_blank"><strong>PM</strong></a>) to be one of 2023&rsquo;s biggest winners. A quintessential &ldquo;sin stock,&rdquo; Philip Morris has the advantage of being able to sell its tobacco and smokeless tobacco products no matter what&rsquo;s happening in the economy.</p>



<p>Sure enough, year-over-year revenue and earnings are up slightly. But&nbsp;PM stock has been <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/3-defensive-stocks-to-buy-for-an-uncertain-interest-rate-environment/" target="_blank">trading</a> in a defined range for the last two years. Maybe it&rsquo;s because data have never confirmed the long-anticipated recession. And part of it is that interest in everything AI made dividend stocks less attractive.</p>



<p>But in 2024, Philip Morris looks very attractive at 14.5x forward earnings, which puts it at the low end of its projected 12-month earnings. And potentially lower interest rates could be the fuel that sends PFE stock past a level of resistance around $107. Coincidentally, or maybe not, analysts are raising their&nbsp;<a href="https://www.tradingview.com/chart/aMepJfAr/?symbol=NYSE%3APM&amp;utm_source=www.marketbeat.com&amp;utm_medium=widget&amp;utm_campaign=chart-logo&amp;utm_term=NYSE%3APM" target="_blank">price targets</a>&nbsp;for the stock.</p>



<h2>Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY)</h2>

<p><strong>Bristol-Myers Squibb&nbsp;</strong>(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bmy-stock-quote/" target="_blank"><strong>BMY</strong></a>) stock is trading near five-year lows, has a forward P/E ratio of just 7x, and is one of the more attractive dividend stocks with a juicy dividend yield of 4.93%. However, this is a biotech that&rsquo;s seen better days. BMY stock is down 33.9% in the last 12 months. Nevertheless, analysts continue to bid the stock higher. However, how you feel about BMY stock will depend on how you feel about the company&rsquo;s key issues.</p>



<p>The primary concern is that the company&rsquo;s flagship drug, Eliquis, will soon face biosimilar competition. And the company recently admitted that the anticipated&nbsp;<a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/bristol-myers-says-it-needs-another-year-hit-target-new-drugs-2023-10-26/" target="_blank">replacements won&rsquo;t be ready</a>&nbsp;as soon as expected. However, Eliquis and Optivo delivered&nbsp;<a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/want-blue-chip-stocks-at-a-low-price-here-are-3-solid-options/" target="_blank">7% and 8%</a>&nbsp;revenue gains in the company&rsquo;s most recent quarter, respectively.</p>



<p>Adding to concerns is that earnings, which are already projected to be in the low single-digit range over the next 12 months, will take another hit from the&nbsp;<a href="https://news.bms.com/news/corporate-financial/2024/Bristol-Myers-Squibb-Completes-Acquisition-of-Mirati-Therapeutics-Strengthening-and-Diversifying-Oncology-Portfolio/default.aspx" target="_blank">company&rsquo;s acquisition of Mirati Therapeutics</a>. The company expects the acquisition to be diluted by approximately 35 cents a share in non-GAAP earnings in 2024. However, the acquisition will diversify Bristol-Myers&rsquo; oncology portfolio, which is already very deep.</p>



<h2>Newmont Mining (NEM)</h2>

<p>In 2024, many investors are diversifying into other assets like gold and <strong>Bitcoin</strong> (<a href="https://investorplace.com/cryptocurrency/btc-usd/"><strong>BTC-USD</strong></a>). It&rsquo;s probably not a bad idea with the size of our national debt and&nbsp;<a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/3-blue-chip-stocks-to-buy-for-high-total-returns-by-2025/" target="_blank">geopolitical concerns that continue to grow</a>. However, many investors may not be comfortable owning precious metals. That makes&nbsp;<strong>Newmont Mining</strong>&nbsp;(NYSE:<strong>NEM</strong>) an attractive alternative.</p>



<p>Newmont is the world&rsquo;s largest gold mining company by volume. NEM stock is down 31% in the past 12 months, but the principle of supply and demand works in the company&rsquo;s favor.</p>



<p>On the demand side, central banks added 1,037 tons of gold to their reserves. And that was after buying a record amount in 2022.</p>



<p>There&rsquo;s no reason to believe that demand will slow dramatically. That&rsquo;s bullish for the spot price of gold and gold mining stocks. Analysts agree and give the stock a price target that would be 66% higher than the closing price on February 8, 2024. Increased earnings will be bullish for the company&rsquo;s dividend, which currently has a 4.80% yield.</p>



<h2>Hormel (HRL)</h2>

<p>The economy has many seeming contradictions. One of them is the fact that&nbsp;<a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/consumer-staples/" target="_blank">consumer staples stocks</a>&nbsp;have remained relatively unloved.&nbsp;<strong>Hormel Foods</strong>&nbsp;(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/hrl-stock-quote/" target="_blank"><strong>HRL</strong></a>) is a good example. The stock has been down over 30% in the last 12 months, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/7-retirement-stocks-to-buy-at-52-week-lows/" target="_blank">culprit is lower earnings.</a>&nbsp;Hormel has been affected by sticky inflation on its input costs. It&rsquo;s also dealing with higher labor costs.</p>



<p>Still, the consumer price index continues to trend in the right direction. And with a little help from the Fed, HRL stock, which is trading at five-year lows, should be an attractive investment.</p>



<p>The current forward P/E of 18.77 assumes the low end of the company&rsquo;s earnings guidance. If the company begins to execute its&nbsp;<a href="https://s25.q4cdn.com/701713307/files/doc_events/2023/Oct/consolidated-deck-vf.pdf" target="_blank">three-year plan to grow earnings</a>, the stock is priced for a big rebound. And along the way, investors get a growing dividend from a Dividend King that has increased its dividend for 58 consecutive years.</p>



<h2>Albemarle (ALB)</h2>

<p>Heading into 2023, to make the case for&nbsp;<strong>Albemarle</strong>&nbsp;(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/alb-stock-quote/" target="_blank"><strong>ALB</strong></a>), all you had to say was &ldquo;lithium.&rdquo; Today, you may have to say &ldquo;but really, lithium&rdquo; to make your case.</p>



<p>That&rsquo;s because consumers are&nbsp;<a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/7-lithium-stocks-to-buy-for-the-next-bull-run-february-2024/" target="_blank">souring on electric vehicles</a>. But the question is why? Saying they don&rsquo;t &ldquo;want&rdquo; EVs is too simplistic. People didn&rsquo;t like smaller cars until they did. The same could be said of many innovations.</p>



<p>EV adoption will require more EV infrastructure. This chicken-and-egg question is clearly being answered in favor of more efficient batteries, plentiful charging stations, or maybe both.</p>



<p>That&rsquo;s a long way to say don&rsquo;t give up on Albemarle yet. A fundamental change has occurred, and EVs aren&rsquo;t going away. When demand for lithium rises, so will the price of lithium. And with that, Albemarle&rsquo;s 5.4x forward earnings will look like a steal. That&rsquo;s what analysts seem to think. Out of 30 analysts, 18 give ALB stock a &ldquo;Strong Buy&rdquo; rating.</p>



<p>And while the company may not have the most attractive dividend in terms of yield. However, Albemarle is a Dividend Aristocrat that has increased its dividend for 28 consecutive years.</p>



<h2>Nutrien (NTR)</h2>

<p><a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/consumer-staples/agriculture/" target="_blank">Agriculture stocks</a>&nbsp;are expected to have a strong year in 2024. That would be music to the ears of&nbsp;<strong>Nutrien</strong>&nbsp;(NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/ntr-stock-quote/" target="_blank"><strong>NTR</strong></a>) shareholders. The stock is down 36% in the last 12 months despite global fertilizer increasing by 3% after falling by 7% in 2022.</p>



<p>According to Rabobank, potash application is forecast to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dtnpf.com/agriculture/web/ag/crops/article/2023/12/14/positive-potash-outlook-seen-lower#:~:text=Rabobank%20estimates%202023%20was%20a%20much%20calmer%20year,could%20increase%20to%20about%205%25%2C%20according%20to%20Rabobank." target="_blank">increase by 5% in 2024</a>. As the world&rsquo;s largest potash producer and third largest nitrogen fertilizer producer, Nutrien benefits from even modest demand increases.</p>



<p>The current forward P/E ratio for NTR stock suggests the stock is fairly valued. However, analysts seem to believe that the company&rsquo;s intrinsic value is not being priced into the stock. The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.tradingview.com/chart/aMepJfAr/?symbol=NYSE%3ANTR&amp;utm_source=www.marketbeat.com&amp;utm_medium=widget&amp;utm_campaign=chart-logo&amp;utm_term=NYSE%3ANTR" target="_blank">consensus price target of $68.39</a>&nbsp;is a 39% increase from the stock&rsquo;s current price. And investors are getting one of the more attractive dividend stocks with a 4.22% yield.</p>

<p>Stocks have&nbsp;been defying expectations with the <strong>S&amp;P 500 </strong>index reaching recent all-time highs. The bullish sentiment is being fueled by expectations of multiple interest rate cuts starting sooner rather than later. Risk-on sentiment is starting to return, and investors are looking for <a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-types/growth-stocks/">growth stocks</a> to buy. &nbsp;</p>



<p>But the rally hasn&rsquo;t been broad-based. It&rsquo;s more like a game of Whack-a-Mole. Even the Magnificent 7 has been trimmed by one. Investors want to see the rally broaden out before they will believe a full-fledged bull market is underway.&nbsp;</p>



<p>They may be waiting a little longer. The latest reading of the consumer price index (<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/cpi-stock-quote/"><strong>CPI</strong></a>) hints that inflation may be making a return. And that is dampening hopes for interest rate cuts. &nbsp;</p>



<p>But there are some stocks that are ready to report strong earnings even if the Fed stands pat. And those stocks still look undervalued. If these stocks start to run, you&rsquo;ll know a bull market is underway. Here are seven growth stocks to buy no matter what happens to the broader market. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Generac Holdings (GNRC)</h2>

<p><strong>Generac</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/gnrc-stock-quote/"><strong>GNRC</strong></a></span>) is growing, just not as much as analysts want. That&rsquo;s my initial takeaway from the company&rsquo;s earnings report. The company missed analyst&rsquo;s forecasts on the top and bottom line. Still, the company delivered year-over-year (YOY) gains, reversing a trend from the last few quarters.&nbsp;</p>



<p>And the company&rsquo;s guidance was lighter than expected. Ok, maybe Generac could use some help from the Fed. But either way, it seems that investors are trying to figure out a fair price for the stock. I listed GNRC stock as an <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/10/undervalued-long-term-stocks-7-to-buy-in-october-2023/" target="_blank">undervalued stock</a> in October 2023. It surged higher but quickly moved into overbought range. &nbsp;</p>



<p>That was just about where the stock was prior to earnings. Again, this is a case of good not being good enough. The company&rsquo;s <a href="https://investors.generac.com/node/14696/pdf" target="_blank">gross margin continues to improve</a> and the company still forecasts robust earnings growth in 2024. &nbsp;</p>



<p>That growth may be stronger with a little help from the Fed &ndash; or a strong hurricane season that reminds consumers of the base use case for the company&rsquo;s signature product line. Either scenario would send the stock soaring which is why it should be on a watchlist of growth stocks to buy. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Snowflake (SNOW)</h2>

<p>Investors are learning that AI, even generative AI is only as good as the data it has available. <strong>Snowflake</strong> (NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/snow-stock-quote/"><strong>SNOW</strong></a></span>) is a cloud-based data storage company. However, Snowflake does more than just collect and house data. It uses AI to help provide insights. To that end, the company made a number of strategic acquisitions in the last year to help enhance its AI and machine learning capabilities. </p>



<p>The company&rsquo;s allows its customers to access its data across numerous public clouds which sets it apart from others in the sector. It&nbsp;also helps ensure that the company will continue to deliver double-digit revenue and earnings growth.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Analysts still have a consensus rating of Buy on SNOW stock. But the consensus price target is below the current price. But price targets are rising ahead of the company&rsquo;s earnings report on February 28, 2024. A solid report and guidance would be all that some analysts will need to bid the stock higher. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Sea Limited (SE)&nbsp;</h2>

The <a href="https://www.sea.com/products/garena" target="_blank">company&rsquo;s business model</a> includes digital entertainment, e-commerce and digital payments and financial services. &nbsp;</p>



<p>If that sounds like <strong>Amazon </strong>(NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/amzn-stock-quote/"><strong>AMZN</strong></a></span>), you&rsquo;d be right. The company is often compared to Amazon. But Sea Limited has much more growth to offer, especially as many Asian markets are starting to reawaken. The company is forecasting earnings to grow by over 85% in the next 12 months and analysts give the stock a consensus Buy rating with a price target that <a href="https://www.tradingview.com/chart/aMepJfAr/?symbol=NYSE%3ASE&amp;utm_source=www.marketbeat.com&amp;utm_medium=widget&amp;utm_campaign=chart-logo&amp;utm_term=NYSE%3ASE" target="_blank">forecasts 27% growth</a>. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Palantir (PLTR)&nbsp;</h2>

<p><strong>Palantir </strong>(NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/pltr-stock-quote/"><strong>PLTR</strong></a></span>) stock is up a whopping 177% in the last 12 months and 49.9% in 2024. However, most of its recent growth has come after it reported earnings in February. Heading into earnings, analysts were skeptical that Palantir would be able to deliver on lofty expectations of growth with its AI platform, AIP. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Those doubts were more than allayed. Palantir is signing up new customers at a dizzying pace. That&rsquo;s due, in no small part to the AI bootcamps that the company is conducting. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Midway through 2023, Palantir delivered its first profitable quarter. With this latest report, the company is well on its way to delivering a <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/7-stocks-that-could-make-your-february-unforgettable/" target="_blank">full-year of positive earnings</a> and expectations for next year are for more of the same. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Analysts still have a Neutral rating on PLTR stock, but recent price targets are moving noticeably higher. While the stock has dropped after each of its last two earnings reports, it&rsquo;s moved on to higher highs each time. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Lockheed Martin (LMT)&nbsp;</h2>

<p><strong>Lockheed Martin</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/lmt-stock-quote/"><strong>LMT</strong></a></span>) is not necessarily a name that comes to mind when you think about growth stocks to buy. However, these aren&rsquo;t ordinary times. The world is full of geopolitical flashpoints that seemingly could get much worse very quickly. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Metaphorically, the world is on fire. And that sound of fiddles you hear may be coming from the U.S. Congress which seems to be in a state of permanent disfunction. A little gridlock is good, but it would be nice to think Congress could pass a budget. The absence of which is weighing on LMT stock.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The company is <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/7-defense-stocks-to-buy-as-tensions-rise-in-the-middle-east/" target="_blank">one of the leading defense contractors</a> to the United States. A year ago, it would have seemed laughable that the defense budget would be cut. It still may not get cut, but it&rsquo;s less of a certainty. Something has to give. But that assumes the political will exists to fix the budget deficit. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Investors hate uncertainty. Budgets provide certainty. Perhaps the election will provide that. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Newmont (NEM)&nbsp;</h2>

<p>Speaking of out-of-control federal spending, it may be a great time to invest in gold. And if physical gold is not your style, <strong>Newmont Mining</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/nem-stock-quote/"><strong>NEM</strong></a></span>) may be more your flavor. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Whatever you feel about gold as an investment, it&rsquo;s hard to argue with the law of supply and demand. Central banks the world over bought gold at a record pace in 2022. And last year, the amount of gold they purchased was just below that level. There&rsquo;s no reason to believe they&rsquo;re done buying. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Newmont is the world&rsquo;s leading gold mining business, and it has the balance sheet to prove it. In its&rsquo; most recent quarter, the company&rsquo;s <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/7-undervalued-dividend-stocks-to-buy-in-february-for-high-total-returns/" target="_blank">operating cash flow came in at $1 billion</a>. That puts the company in a solid position to meet their forecast of a 35% increase in earnings as gold continues to rise. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Pfizer (PFE)</h2>

<p><strong>Pfizer</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/pfe-stock-quote/"><strong>PFE</strong></a></span>) ran a Super Bowl ad which had nothing to do with<em> that</em> vaccine. Instead, the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJkm2gxMRzU" target="_blank">90-second spot</a> looked to remind viewers that Pfizer has played a key role in, among other things, developing cancer treatments.&nbsp;</p>



<p>That&rsquo;s a good reason to consider PFE stock. In the fourth quarter of 2023, Pfizer <a href="https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-completes-acquisition-seagen" target="_blank">completed its acquisition</a> of <strong>Seagen </strong>(NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/sgen-stock-quote/"><strong>SGEN</strong></a></span>). This will more than double Pfizer&rsquo;s oncology pipeline which was already formidable. It will still take time for these drugs to move through clinical trials, but the company has other candidates in its <a href="https://www.pfizer.com/science/drug-product-pipeline" target="_blank">pipeline</a>, including its <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/7-must-buy-pharma-stocks-amid-the-weight-loss-drug-revolution/" target="_blank">own entry into the obesity drug market</a>, that are much closer.&nbsp;</p>



<p>All of which is to say that PFE stock is undervalued and should be considered one of the growth stocks to buy in 2024. It&rsquo;s trading near its 52-week low and has a forward P/E ratio of just 12x. Analysts have a Buy rating on the stock as well with a price target of $31.21. And Pfizer pays a solid dividend that the company has increased for the 14 consecutive years and currently yields 6.11%.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a volatile market, many investors follow the strategy of chasing their winners higher. Money has flooded stocks such as <strong>Nvidia</strong> (NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/nvda-stock-quote/"><strong>NVDA</strong></a></span>). However, many of these stocks are objectively overvalued. While they may still be good investments, they&rsquo;re hardly good deal stocks. &nbsp;</p>



<p>On the other hand, many investors understand the value of buying stocks when they&rsquo;re on sale. But not every stock that is on sale is a real deal. That&rsquo;s where the axiom &ldquo;some stocks are cheap for a reason&rdquo; applies. &nbsp;</p>



<p>To find real deal stocks, you&rsquo;ll want to find stocks trading at a low price and with a chance for significant upside. In some cases, you&rsquo;ll want to look at&nbsp;reliable dividend payers. That way, even if the stock doesn&rsquo;t move higher right away, you benefit from collecting a reliable source of regular income. However, while that may be an approach endorsed by Warren Buffett, deal stocks are often still in growth mode. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Pfizer (PFE)&nbsp;</h2>

However, it&rsquo;s still trading at a discount to its mean historical P/E ratio of 19.32x over the last 10 years. The stock is also trading at a discount to the large biotechnology sector, which has a P/E ratio of 16.7x. Pfizer also pays an attractive dividend with a current yield of 6.05%. &nbsp;</p>



<p>PFE stock has been beaten down due to declining sales of its COVID-19 products. Some investors are also concerned about the company&rsquo;s potential to be named in lawsuits. However, the bullish case for Pfizer comes from its pipeline, which has expanded with the company&rsquo;s acquisition of <strong>Seagen</strong> (NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/sgen-stock-quote/"><strong>SGEN</strong></a></span>). Pfizer is also getting into the <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/7-must-buy-pharma-stocks-amid-the-weight-loss-drug-revolution/" target="_blank">weight loss arena</a>. </p>



<p>It&rsquo;s still likely to take some time before these drugs are on the market, but the company is projecting 25% earnings growth in the next 12 months. Analysts are also getting on board, with <a href="https://www.tradingview.com/chart/aMepJfAr/?symbol=NYSE%3APFE&amp;utm_source=www.marketbeat.com&amp;utm_medium=widget&amp;utm_campaign=chart-logo&amp;utm_term=NYSE%3APFE" target="_blank">10 out of 25 analysts</a> issuing a Strong Buy rating for the stock. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>BorgWarner (BWA)&nbsp;</h2>

The company is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the automotive industry. It also partners with many electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers. </p>



<p>As you might imagine, that relationship to the EV industry has been bearish for BWA stock, down 38% in the last 12 months and 28% in just the last six months. However, the stock trades at just 7x forward earnings, about half its historical average in the previous <a href="https://fullratio.com/stocks/nyse-bwa/pe-ratio" target="_blank">10 years</a>. &nbsp;</p>



<p>That alone should make it time for investors to take a closer look. When they do, they&rsquo;ll see a company that has partnerships with notable EV makers, including <strong>Li Auto</strong> (NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/li-stock-quote/"><strong>LI</strong></a></span>), which is rapidly picking up <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/li-auto-tesla-china-2685f53a" target="_blank">market share in China</a>. &nbsp;</p>



<p>BorgWarner is projecting 15% earnings growth in the next 12 months. Analysts forecast 28% share price growth, and 9 out of 19 analysts give BWA stock a Strong Buy rating. &nbsp;</p>



<h2>Penn Entertainment (PENN)&nbsp;</h2>

At the end of 2023, 38 states, plus the District of Columbia, have approved sports betting in some form. But <strong>Penn Entertainment</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/penn-stock-quote/"><strong>PENN</strong></a></span>) has been a laggard.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The reason is the company&rsquo;s partnership with ESPN, which it undertook after parting ways with Barstool. The company will pay the <strong>Walt Disney</strong> (NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/dis-stock-quote/"><strong>DIS</strong></a></span>) subsidiary $1.5 billion in cash over the next 10 years. ESPN can also exercise $500 million of warrants to buy 31.8 million of PENN common stock. &nbsp;</p>



<p>That payment to ESPN weighed on the company&rsquo;s earnings in its most recent quarter. And it&rsquo;s likely to continue being a headwind until the company <a href="https://www.pennentertainment.com/corp/-/media/project/png-tenant/corporate/png-corp/penn-entertainment-fourth-quarter-2023-investor-presentation-2-15-24.pdf" target="_blank">launches the ESPN BET app</a> at on-premise gaming locations in New York, which is expected to happen prior to the start of the 2024 NFL season. &nbsp;</p>



<p>In the meantime, investors can snag PENN stock at a discount. The company is expected to generate positive earnings in the next 12 months. Analysts give the stock a $26.75 price target, which is 56% higher than the stock&rsquo;s closing price on Feb. 23, 2024. &nbsp;</p>
