Elon Musk has never been one to shy away from his opinions on many topics. Musk recently shared his opinions on civilization and world governments.
What Happened: With his $44 billion acquisition of social media platform Twitter, Musk said he did the deal not to make money, but to help humanity.
In another step to help humanity, Musk offered some advice to world leaders while speaking virtually at the World Government Summit.
“I know this is called the World Government Summit, but I think we should be a little concerned about becoming too much of a single world government,” Musk told the audience.
Musk pointed to the rise and fall of certain civilizations over time not impacting other parts of the world, due to the separation of civilizations.
“While Rome was falling, Islam was rising …That ended up being the source of preservation of knowledge and many scientific advancements.”
Musk said we want to be cautious about being too much of a single civilization.
“We want to avoid creating civilization risks by having frankly, this may sound a little odd, too much cooperation between governments.”

“We want to have some amount of civilization diversity,” Musk said.
The Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter CEO said he’s “not suggesting war or anything.”
Musk said by following these ideals “humanity keeps moving forward.”
The comments came as it was almost a year since Russia invaded Ukraine for one of the biggest international conflicts in recent years.

The Tesla CEO found himself a central figure during the early days after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Musk jokingly offered to fight Russian President Vladimir Putin.
