How To Play The Tiger Woods Sex Tape

Apparently there is a sex tape between Tiger Woods, and one of his alleged mistresses, porn star Devon James. If this is true, there is money to be made from this, and it's not just buying the rights to the video, and selling it for $20 a DVD. I'm talking about shorting Nike NKE for a short term trade. Nike has been Tiger's biggest supporter through all of his infidelities, but even this I'm not sure Nike can look past. Nike has been fairly risque in some of its ad campaigns, but having its biggest star be the star of a sex tape, would no doubt ruffle many feathers in Beavertown, Ore. If and when a tape does come out, Nike will have to reevaluate its relationship with Woods, as I suspect it would not want to associated with this kind of negative publicity. I would suspect Nike shares would come under some pressure, not drastically, but enough to make a short term decision that share prices will indeed fall. There has been some ramblings that a sex tape might not exist, as James' own mother says the porn star is a pathological liar, and never had a relationship with Woods. Yet, back in January, Woods lawyers banned newspapers from publishing naked photos of Woods, so there is obviously something out there. If it is indeed true that a video exists, this would certainly put some pressure on Nike, and even more pressure on Woods. As the slogan says, "Just do it".
