Hackers Unite! Chaos, Threats, And Wikileaks

Yesterday, websites of Mastercard M, Visa V, and Amazon AMZN were hacked by Wikileaks supporters as a threat to any organization that opposes the rights of Wikileaks and its controversial founder, Julian Assange. On Thursday, an activist from a group called Anonymous said in an interview with BBC radio, “This campaign is not over from what I've seen. It's still going strong.” The man, who used a pseudonym "Coldblood," had an English accent and claimed to be a 22-year-old software engineer with no particular political loyalty. Anonymous, the group of computer hackers allegedly responsible for yesterday's attacks, have attacked other groups before, including the Church of Scientology. Last weekend, members of Anonymous vowed in several online manifestos to seek revenge on any organization that threatened WikiLeaks. Investors continue to watch the internet with anticipation as markets look to open today. Yesterday, shares of Visa V fell in after-market trading after its website was hacked.
