Sears Continues To Be Squashed (SHLD)

Eddie Lampert cannot be feeling too good right about now. He is the billionaire financier who controls Sears Holding Corporation SHLD. For awhile there, people were speculating that Lampert might be the next Warren Buffett and he was looking to use Sears as an investment vehicle similar to Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway. It has been an unpleasant 2010 for Lampert, however, as SHLD has fallen 25% already this year. Today the shares are getting rocked again, losing 7.16% to $62.44. Volume has been heavy, as SHLD investors dump there shares to avoid further losses. More than 2 million shares have already changed hands compared to a daily average of 1.31 million. Sears Holdings Corporation (Holdings) is the parent company of Kmart Holding Corporation (Kmart) and Sears, Roebuck and Co. (Sears). The Company is broadline retailer with 2,235 full-line and 1,284 specialty retail stores in the United States.
