Prudential Financial Beats Wall Street Estimates (PRU)

Prudential Financial PRU released its third-quarter earnings results on Wednesday after the closing bell. The company reported net income of $1.17 billion, or $2.46 per share, compared to $1.09 billion, or $2.35 per share, in the year ago period. On an adjusted basis, operating income was $2.12 per share, which easily exceeded Wall Street estimates of $1.45 per share. Total revenues were $7.876 billion compared to $6.798 billion in last year's fiscal third quarter. This came in ahead of analysts' consensus revenue estimates of $7.45 billion. In the after hours trading session, PRU shares have gained 0.72% to $54.50.
