Silver is severely underperforming gold in Tuesday's trading session. Gold futures have risen 1.50% to $1,378.10, while silver futures are up 0.29% to $27.54. This reverses a pattern that has been in place for awhile, whereby silver has been outperforming gold - albeit with more volatility.
The same trend can be witnessed in the ETFs which track silver and gold and are listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The SPDR Gold Trust ETF GLD has gained 0.80% and is trading at $134.52.
The iShares Silver Trust ETF SLV, on the other hand, has lost 0.74% and is currently trying to retake the $27 level. Expect significant resistance around $27 in the SLV as it has stalled out just above here a couple of times in the last two weeks.
