EFOI was the biggest gaineron Nasdaq and soared 0.190 (45.24%) to $0.610. U.S. Rep. Steven C. LaTourette (R-Ohio) announced Aug. 3 that Energy Focus Inc. of Solon has been awarded a $23 million contract to design and manufacture energy efficiency lighting for Navy ships. STAAR Surgical Company STAA increased 1.23 (27.46%) to $5.71 fter the Company announced that it expects double-digit growth in revenue for fiscal year 2011. The Company said that it would participate in the 2011 Canaccord Genuity Growth Conference at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston on August 9, 2011. Silicon Image, Inc. SIMG surged 1.32 (24.22%) to $6.77 after Merriman Curhan Ford upgraded the rating on the stock to buy from neutral. Global Traffic Network, Inc. GNET jumped 2.29 (19.62%) to $13.96 after The company said it agreed to be acquired by an affiliate of GTCR, LLC, a leading private equity firm. Global stockholders will receive $14.00 in cash for each share of Global's common stock, which represents about a 20.0 percent premium over the closing price on August 2 and a 22.7 percent premium based on the 60-day volume weighted average price of $11.41.
