Johnny Depp's Debut Art Collection Fetches Nearly $3.7 Million

Hollywood Actor Johnny Depp made nearly $3.7 million selling art he had created. 780 prints sold within hours at Castle Fine Art following an announcement of the sale on Instagram.

Individual works in the collection sold for $4,800 and the portfolio of four images sold for $18,064, according to BBC

Depp calls it his “Friends and Heroes” collection because it includes portraits of those who have inspired him – Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Elizabeth Taylor and Al Pacino, among others.

The gallery says Depp’s work comes at “the intersection of “pop art and “street art.”

The sale comes shortly after the conclusion of the trial involving his ex-wife Amber Heard. A jury found Heard’s article about Depp in the Washington Post to be defamatory and awarded $15 million to Depp.

Heard won a countersuit that claimed Depp’s press agent defamed her and awarded her $2 million.

Earlier this summer Depp raised $800,000 for charity with the sale of a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT’s) called Never Fear Trugh which also depicted some of his heroes and friends.
