Selena Gomez Hits $1.3 Billion Net Worth – A Closer Look At Her Real Estate And Business Empire

Selena Gomez, known for her role in "Only Murders in the Building" and her career as a singer and entrepreneur, has achieved billionaire status.

Gomez debuts on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a net worth of $1.3 billion. At age 32, she is one of the youngest to join the ranks of billionaires.

A large share of the star's fortune comes from her cosmetics company Rare Beauty Brands Inc., which she founded five years ago.

But the former Disney star, pop singer and actress also has built an impressive real estate portfolio throughout her career. Read on to learn about Gomez's properties.

In 2020, the singer purchased fellow musician Tom Petty's former Southern California estate in Encino for $4.9 million.

The 9,000-square-foot home, custom-built in 1989, still carries Petty's influence despite him leaving the property after his 1996 divorce. Notable features like the recording studio and sunken performance space likely appeal to Gomez's creative side.

The five-bedroom mansion boasts high ceilings and a gourmet kitchen. Its vibrant lower level includes a wine cellar, gym, massage room, creative workspace, kitchen, vocal booth, den and guest suite.

According to property records, the pop star also owns a charming property in Woodland Hills, California, which she bought in 2017 for $1.8 million. Situated on a tree-lined street, the 3,500-square-foot home features four bedrooms, four bathrooms, hardwood floors and a cozy living room with a wood-burning fireplace and plenty of natural light.

The modern kitchen has Wolf appliances and quartz countertops, while the family room includes a home theater, wood-beamed ceilings and built-ins.

The primary suite boasts a spacious walk-in closet, a fireplace and a spalike bathroom with a rainfall shower and jetted tub.

The half-acre property also includes a pool, fire pit and outdoor kitchen.

In addition to her current real estate portfolio, Gomez has owned several notable properties. Her history of buying and selling luxurious homes reflects her evolving taste and success.

Gomez had a change of heart after purchasing a 3,188-square-foot, three-bedroom home in Studio City in 2017 for $2.24 million. She put the house back on the market in 2018 for $1.79 million and again in 2019. But during the COVID-19 lockdown, she made the chic space her home, sharing cooking photos from her stylish kitchen on social media.

In August 2020, she relisted the property for $2.395 million, ultimately selling for $2.368 million a month later.

After purchasing a house in Calabasas, California, for $3.7 million in 2015, she put it back on the market for $4.5 million the following year. It sold in 2016 for $3.3 million.

In 2011, while she was still a teenager, Gomez's parents, via a trust, reportedly acquired a home in the San Fernando Valley where the young star resided for a period. The five-bedroom, 7½-bath property spans 6,630 square feet and was completely remodeled. The property, listed for $3.495 million in 2014, sold for $3.45 million.

A Texas native, Gomez previously owned a property in Fort Worth that she purchased in 2015 as a place to stay while visiting family. She sold the 10,000-square-foot mansion for $2.7 million in 2018.

During the first season of her show "Only Murders in the Building," Gomez embraced a method acting approach by moving into a rental apartment in New York City. Situated in the serene Upper East Side, the details of the unit are largely unknown, which seems to add to its allure.
