The U.S. Customs Operations Office recently seized a large shipment of marijuana that was concealed as broccoli at the border of Texas and Mexico.
The total shipment is believed to be valued at more than $630,000.
The pot was discovered on Saturday, May 16 at an international bridge in Pharr, Texas that leads into Mexico.
CBP officers from the cargo facilities of the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge found hundreds of packages of marijuana inside a commercial shipment of fresh broccoli that came from Mexico.
Some 378 packages of the alleged cannabis weighed 3,159 pounds in total.
"This is a substantial amount of narcotics that will not reach our communities," said port director Carlos Rodríguez in a prepared statement.
The cargo was seized along with the vehicle by CBP OFO Officers and the investigation will continue in the hands of homeland security investigations.
