Green Thumb Opens Fifth Essence Store In Las Vegas Area

The owner of Rise retail stores Green Thumb Industries (GTI) GTII GTBIF is launching its fifth Essence store in the Las Vegas area.

Essence South Durango, located at 6410 South Durango Drive in Las Vegas, is scheduled to debut on Saturday, June 27.

This will be the company's 48th retail location in the U.S.

Green Thumb said it would donate proceeds from the first day's sale to the Last Prisoner Project, an organization focused on criminal justice reform.

The latest store opening comes just a month after Green Thumb's launching of Essence South Rainbow, the company's fourth Las Vegas-based retail space.

The company's CEO and founder Ben Kovler praised its team, explaining it continued to show "resilience and execution" during the current health crisis.

"The team is also honored to support the important work of an organization we passionately believe in, the Last Prisoners Project, which redresses the past and continuing harms of unjust laws and policies so that victimless cannabis prisoners can walk free," stated Kovler in a Friday press release.

Mary Bailey, Last Prisoner Project's Managing Director, said they are "both humbled and grateful" to work with the company that supports their mission.

"Green Thumb's ongoing dedication to our efforts is very much valued and appreciated," added Bailey.

The company said it has licenses to launch six additional stores within Nevada.

Its portfolio of branded products available across the state includes Cannabiotix, Desert Grown Farms, Dogwalkers, Incredibles, and Rhythm.
