Medical cannabis company WeedMD Inc. WDDMF has launched the shipment of its cultivar — Black Sugar Rose — to the Ontario Cannabis Store.
The Toronto-based company confirmed Monday that it is poised to release its acclaimed strain under Color Cannabis adult-use brand for sale to provincial retailers.
It's the company's first cultivar launched with a terpene profile listing. The whole flower product packs a 3.6 per cent total terpenes and a THC level of 20 per cent.
"By adding terpene listings on our Color brands, we are providing consumers with important product data and information that will enhance their cannabis acumen and empower them to make more informed purchase decisions," WeedMD CEO Angelo Tsebelis said.
Curtis Wallace, WeedMD's Head of Cultivation, highlighted that "this cultivar's terpene and cannabinoid profile stands up alongside some of our most iconic cultivars, including our exclusively held, top-selling Pedro's Sweet Sativa."
"In selecting new cultivars, we took great care to complement our carefully selected Color Cannabis genetics and product line," he added.
Separately, WeedMD confirmed the departure of its Chief Commercial Officer, Stephen Ng.
In October, the company welcomed veteran finance executive Lu Cacioppo to its board as an independent director and Deborah Sikkema to serve as its Chief People Officer.
