Her Highness Partners With TILT Holdings For Cannabis Packaging

The early success of the luxury cannabis brand Her Highness created a problem for Founders Laura Eisman and Allison Krongard.

The New York-based brand reportedly developed such a large following that the company can’t keep its products on cannabis retailers’ shelves — a problem that was largely the result of not being able to purchase enough packaging to handle the demand for its products.

“As the brand expanded into more states, we’d have to choose which states to send the packaging to,” Krongard said.

The company turned to TILT Holdings Inc. TILT TLLTF, which provides business solutions to the global cannabis industry, to help solve the problem of packaging its women-focused line of cannabis accessories, vape pens and cartridges, pre-rolls and Highly Orgasmic Pleasure Oil.

In addition to its THC products, Her Highness produces a line of CBD beauty and relaxation aids that are available nationwide.

“What the TILT partnership allows us to do is smooth the very bumpy road toward expansion,” Krongard said.

Sometimes when cannabis brands need more capital or expertise, they are acquired by large companies like Green Thumb Industries Inc. GTII GTBIF or Canopy Growth Corp. CGC WEED. TILT allows independent brands to stay independent.

Supporting Brands

TILT reports that it works with brand owners to support their needs — through its portfolio of companies that provide technology, hardware, cultivation and production, TILT helps cannabis businesses build brands. TILT serves cannabis brands and retailers in 37 states in the U.S. Canada, Israel, Mexico, South America and the European Union.

Eisman and Krongard started Her Highness after scouring the market, being unable to find products that were formulated specifically for women and encountering packaging that elicited a male-centric stoner vibe — a combination the women viewed as an opportunity to capture an underserved market.

Despite being from New York, where cannabis was not yet legal, Eisman and Krongard launched the brand in 2019 in California where adult-use marijuana had already been legal for several years.

Packaging is crucial to Her Highness’s strategy. The brand’s attention-grabbing boxes are emblazoned with the company’s trademark red lips or snake logo.

“By increasing our product output into new markets with TILT, it allows us to grow as a brand and continue our mission to break down the stigma of women and cannabis,” Eisman said.

“As TILT expands, we can also grow into new states with them,” Krongard added. “They really understand our standard operating procedures and product.”
