Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy And Telehealth Platforms Merge To Enhance Treatment Options

Psychedelic medicine and telehealth provider TripSitter Clinic Ltd. has closed the acquisition of assets of Insight Systems PBC -aka Reconscious Medical-, a psychedelic psychotherapy company engaging in both in-clinic and online virtual care with safety, monitoring and support provided via a novel technology platform.

To date, Reconscious Medical's primary focus and service has been the combination of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) in both high and low doses. 

The company’s three primary products are in-clinic psychedelic psychotherapy intensives with high-dose (IM and oral) KAP sessions, virtual lower-dose (oral) ketamine-enhanced psychotherapy (KEP) sessions and a technology platform that enables the delivery of the virtual model as well as electronic health record (EHR) for virtual and in-clinic work. 

Following the acquisition, current treatment offerings will be further updated through enhanced tripsitting, preparation and integration services with trained therapists, while there will be a new offer for unlimited psychedelic group integration sessions to patients.

In turn, Reconscious Medical will be instrumental in expanding TripSitter’s health services through KAP, external training in tripsitting and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy training programs, and single courses in psychedelic coaching and psychotherapy. 

Importantly, TripSitter is not a primary care physician (PCP), requiring prospective patients to have their physicians provide a diagnosis along with other health information. When a patient is approved for treatment by their physician, TripSitter connects them with experts through its telehealth platform.

Reconscious Medical will help better shape safe and effective treatment protocols by integrating its psychedelic psychotherapy technology platform with TripSitter's telehealth delivery system.

Tripsitter also announced the appointment of Reconscious Medical’s co-founder Dr. Mark Braunstein as the chairman of its board of directors. Braunstein is a psychiatrist with over 22 years of clinical experience and a pioneer of a new path in psychiatric care integrating wilderness programming, exercise, diet, spirituality and natural medicines.

Dr. Braunstein is the medical director for multiple psychedelic mental health clinics and runs inpatient and outpatient wellness treatment programs. The psychiatrist says he is convinced that the combination of Tripsitter's technology platform with the world-class protocols of Reconcious Medical will significantly broaden access for those in need of healing.
