Trulieve TCNNF CEO Kim Rivers sat down with Benzinga at the MJ Biz Conference in November 2022 to discuss Trulieve's mission and future expansion, as well as the positive sides of the growing cannabis industry.
Host Elliot Lane touched on several topics, including the benefits of attending a conference like MJ Biz and Trulieve's Q3 earnings, where the company had achieved over 30% YoY growth. Rivers stated that despite the past few quarters being different for the cannabis industry, with increased consumption and availability of spend due to stimulus, the industry had never gone through a cycle. As a result, understanding how the industry would perform in different environments was crucial to achieving long-term success. Rivers also expressed her excitement at the prospect of deeper expansion into the Southeast, Northeast, West Virginia, Massachusetts, and Arizona.
Lane then asked Rivers how Trulieve was handling the different political landscapes of the states where they were operating. The CEO emphasized that cannabis is a human issue and not a red or blue one. When cannabis was done responsibly and programs rolled out in conjunction with state policies, which have different goals and personalities, it became a personal issue, and positive change was seen.
The conversation with Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers reveals the company's positive outlook on the future of the cannabis industry and its commitment to responsible and sustainable growth. With expansion plans in several states and an emphasis on meeting the needs of its consumers, Trulieve is poised to become a leader in the cannabis space.
