As the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference returns to Miami (April 11-12), gathering top CEOs, investors and leaders in the marijuana industry, let's scroll through the latest leadership changes in the space.
Meet MariMed's New Chairman And CEO
Cannabis multi-state operator MariMed, Inc. MRMD MRMD announced recently that its board of directors tapped Edward Gildea to serve as their chairman and Jon Levine as CEO.
Prior to this, Gildea served as an independent director of the company since 2013.
Levine, the company's co-founder and president, who is one of the speakers at April's Cannabis Capital Conference, has served as interim CEO since the December passing of co-founder, chairman and CEO Bob Fireman.
Following its search for a permanent CEO, the Board concluded Levine was most qualified to help MariMed achieve the mission that he and Fireman created as co-founders over a decade ago.
"Jon's deep industry experience, his tenured and proven leadership of the company, and his clear vision for its future are unparalleled and will serve MariMed's shareholders very well," Gildea said.
Jones Soda Has New Board Member
Jones Soda JSDA JSDA, a craft soda manufacturer with a growing line of cannabis products, recently tapped Gregg Reichman to serve on the company's board of directors as a director until its next annual meeting of stockholders.
"We are excited to have Gregg join the Board, and believe that his background in finance and investments will help further our corporate strategy to deliver enhanced value to our stockholders through continued growth and diversification of our business," stated Norman, the chairman of the board.
