NBA Star Al Harrington Launches Premium Cannabis Brand In New Jersey: Here's Why You Should Try It

Al Harrington, a New Jersey native and former NBA player, is launching his premium cannabis brand, Viola, exclusively with RISE Dispensary in New Jersey. The launch will begin on Friday, March 24, at RISE Paterson, and the premium flower will be available at RISE Bloomfield starting the next day. Viola is a leading premium Black-owned cannabis brand, inspired by Harrington's grandmother of the same name, who used cannabis to alleviate the symptoms of glaucoma and diabetes.

RISE Dispensary, part of Green Thumb Industries GTBIF, is excited to offer Viola's expertly cultivated indoor and outdoor flower to its customers. Both locations will offer mixed bud in various strains, including Good Times (Chauffeur and Strawberry Jamz), Kick Back (G31), and Lights Out (Grapes & Cream).

Harrington's mission is to educate, empower, and uplift communities of color to increase representation in the cannabis industry. Viola is rooted in purpose, and Harrington believes that cannabis can be a tool for change, particularly in communities of color where cannabis has been unfairly stigmatized.

"I want to make sure that we are educating our community and empowering them with knowledge to understand the cannabis plant and the benefits that come from it," Harrington said in a statement.

Harrington played 16 seasons in the NBA, and after retiring, he founded Viola to honor his grandmother's legacy and help others who are suffering from illnesses that can be alleviated with cannabis. Viola has since become a leading cannabis brand, known for its high-quality products and commitment to social justice.

The launch event at RISE Bloomfield on Saturday, March 25, will feature a visit from Harrington and his friends, as well as special promotions and giveaways. Customers can also shop for Viola products online and enjoy a seamless, convenient shopping experience.
