St. Patrick's Day Cannabis Sales Rose This Year With Beverages Up 95%, Says Data Platform Fyllo

Fyllo, a platform providing data-driven marketing and regulatory solutions, took a close look at cannabis sales data from this year's St. Patrick’s Day.

Highlights: Store Sales, Basket Size And Foot Traffic

  • 63% sales growth in locations Fyllo tracked this year.
  • +17% in YoY, same-store sales this St. Patrick's day.
  • 20.8% increase in customers in the store.
  • -2.7% lower typical basket size in comparison to last year.

Sales By Product Category

"Beverages were the fastest growing category this St Patrick's Day, posting +95% growth YoY in same-store sales," according to a press release procured exclusively by Benzinga.

The top five categories overall this year (mostly) remained unchanged:

1. PREROLL (+14% YoY)

2. GEAR (26% YoY, up from 3rd place last year)

3. VAPES (-17% YoY, down from 2nd place year)

4. EDIBLES (+27% YoY)

5. EXTRACT (53% YoY)

Sales by Age, Gender

The highest percentage of sales was 27% in the age categories 25-34 and 35-44. Meanwhile, the highest year-over-year same-store sales were 35% in the 21-24 age group.

Regarding the distribution of sales by gender, 34 % of females and 66% of males bought cannabis on St. Patrick's Day.

Sales By State

"Nevada and Connecticut were the fastest growing recreational markets in our network this year, posting 50% and 43% YOY growth in same-store sales. Arkansas and Florida were among the fastest growing medical states, posting 44% and 31% growth YOY in same-stores sales," reported Fyllo.
