Nate Diaz's Cannabis Dilemma: Texas Law vs. His Affinity For Weed, Who Will Get The First Knockout?

Nate Diaz and Jake Paul held a press conference to promote their much anticipated August fight. As Diaz, a former UFC fighter ventures into celebrity boxing, the event raises concerns due to his well-known affinity for cannabis. The fight is scheduled to take place in Texas, a state with strict drug laws, including cannabis prohibition.

Determined To Fight

Diaz joked about moving the fight to a legal cannabis state after his marijuana exemption application was denied. Testing positive for THC could lead to repercussions for him, such as suspension and fines.

Despite these challenges, he seems determined to proceed with the fight, scheduled for August 5th at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas.

Nate Diaz's Trailblazing Moment: Introducing CBD to the UFC

Diaz introduced CBD into the UFC after using a vape cartridge at a post-fight press conference in August 2016.

At open workouts before his match-up with Anthony Pettis at UFC 241, Diaz found himself the subject of media scrutiny once again when he lit a joint and passed it to fans in the crowd.

Diaz claimed it was CBD flower, but either way, the use of cannabinoids was well outside the bounds of the in-competition period.
