The Kansas City Royals have made an unprecedented move by collaborating with a leading cannabis brand to raise awareness about CBD's therapeutic properties.
This partnership makes the Royals the second Major League Baseball (MLB) team to focus on CBD education and advocacy, a significant milestone for the organization, reported Marijuana Moment.
Pure Spectrum CBD, a Missouri-based company specializing in hemp-derived CBD products will join forces with the Royals in this innovative partnership.
Sarah Tourville, the executive VP and chief commercial & community impact officer for the Royals stressed the importance of supporting a local brand like Pure Spectrum while enlightening the community about CBD's potential benefits.
Pure Spectrum has already made strides in athletics, sponsoring major events like the CrossFit Games in 2018 and partnering with U.S. Olympic governing bodies.
Pure Spectrum's CEO, Dan Huerter, who grew up in Kansas City says the collaboration with the Royals is a personal triumph, contributing to health and wellness promotion in his hometown community. He added that the partnership is a dream come true and represents significant progress in CBD's acceptance and integration.
To commemorate their alliance, Pure Spectrum and the Royals unveiled the "Pure Spectrum Lodge" during the grand opening at Kauffman Stadium. The lodge provides a space for fans to relax, learn about CBD's potential and enhance their experience.
Pure Spectrum took center stage as the presenting partner of Yoga Day at the stadium and plans to present Ag Night on August 1, solidifying its commitment to community engagement and wellness.
The partnership signifies a groundbreaking chapter for both the sports and CBD industries.
The MLB itself made headlines last year with its league-wide partnership with Charlotte's Web Holdings Inc CWBHF, establishing them as the "Official CBD of MLB," indicating CBD's growing integration in sports.
