Janet Yellen Joins The Shroom Trend, Sort Of, During Her Official Visit To China

In a recent interview with CNN, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen casually recognized that she tried magic mushrooms at a dinner during her July official visit to China.

Although “delicious,” the mushrooms didn’t make her trip. Yellen added that she was only informed that the meal was made of the psychoactive native Lanmaoa asiatica shrooms after she’d eaten them.

“I went with this large group of people, and the person who had arranged our dinner did the ordering. There was a delicious mushroom dish. I was not aware that these mushrooms had hallucinogenic properties. I learned that later.”

She relaxed after reading that when properly cooked, they have no impact. Eating them raw produces a hallucinogenic trip that can last for days. “All of us enjoyed the mushrooms, the restaurant, and none of us felt any ill effects,” Yellen said.

Psychedelics and magic mushrooms will surely come up at the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Chicago on Sept 27-28. Get your tickets today before prices go up and secure a spot at the epicenter of cannabis culture, investment and branding.
