Ryan Richmond, former owner of Relief Choices, LLC, a Michigan marijuana dispensary, has been found guilty of tax evasion and obstructing the IRS.
IRS: Over $1 Million In Lost Tax Revenue
The U.S. Department of Justice revealed that Richmond concealed gross receipts by paying operating expenses in cash and rerouting credit card payments through an unrelated bank account from 2011 to 2014.
This resulted in over $1 million in lost tax revenue, according to IRS estimates.
Richmond faces a potential nine-year prison sentence, with five years for tax evasion, three years for obstructing the IRS, and one year for failing to file a tax return.
