Healthcare Providers Can Offer Ketamine Treatment On Employee Insurance Plans

The reportedly first and only licensed provider of health benefit plans that include psychedelic-assisted therapies, third-party healthcare benefits administrator Enthea, has expanded its national network capabilities and is now able to serve U.S. employees nationwide in need of mental health treatments.

The company has a rapidly growing list of premium partners and employers that will be onboarded on a regular basis. Its stated mission is to ensure access to safe, affordable and effective “medication-assisted therapies,” starting with legal ketamine therapy (KAT) and later MDMA and psilocybin, once approved.

Providers in Enthea's network are critical to such a mission, says networks and strategic initiatives director Andrew Ninnimann, adding that the team “remains committed to working with companies at the forefront of innovation as it pertains to developments that are changing the mental health industry."

Enthea’s recent growth in the existing providers' network includes new partnerships with Skylight Psychedelics and Innerwell, both offering onsite as well as at-home patient experiences, as well as NYC-based clinic brand Nushama

The announcement follows one-year data outcomes on Enthea’s services contract with Dr. Bronner, with employees confirming sound improvement in a variety of mental health disorders via KAT.

How To Access

Through Enthea’s benefit services, companies can cover treatment for their employees and families by adding KAT as an ancillary benefit, such as is the case with dental and vision coverage.

In turn, they would get access to a nationwide network of credentialed KAT providers, established medical policy and standards of care as well as authorization for treatment and provider reimbursement.

Ketamine

Ketamine has been shown to interrupt unhealthy thought patterns and increase neuroplasticity, facilitating positive rewiring of the brain. Enthea’s CMO, Dr. Dan Rome, views it as “a very valuable tool for therapists trying to help with these disorders," as the lowering of programmed mental defenses help patients get to the root of their problems.

“This can result in long-term relief – and not merely symptom suppression, as is too often the case with today's conventional therapy," Rome concluded.
